Happy Birthday Lily! {part 2}

Time to get ready for a party...

Did you not know that you have to put your hands on your hips and twist to strike a pose?
 She was too cute!
She absolutely loved her birthday outfit.

Happy Birthday Lily! {part 1}

On the 14th Lily turned 7!  Where does time go?

I took so many photos so I am going to write a few posts instead of cramming this one full of them.

She was so excited to open her presents.  I got her to wait until 9am. Which is really hard for an excited 7yr old.

So glad daddy wrapped everything for me.
This Rainbow Dash sweatshirt was her favorite.

She was so excited it even had wings!
Last but not least, new artwork for her room.

On another note...she is growing out her bangs and they drive me nuts when they are in her face.  O_o

Wordful Wednesday - Birthday Dinner

Jeff's favorite place for Beef on Weck (other than his mom's) is a place called Bar Bill...

So for his birthday yesterday we went there for dinner.  We went early because they get busy during normal lunch and dinner time.
It's in a suburb of Buffalo called East Aurora.
The food is yummy.  I personally am not fond of their service, but the beef on weck totally makes up for it.

DELICIOUS!!

(For those of you who do not know what Beef on Weck is....it is a hot roast beef sandwich on a Kimmelweck bun.  A Kimmelweck bun is a bun with caraway seeds and kosher salt.  It is a Western New York thing.)

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to my Hubby!!
Hope you have a fantastic day!
PS- our favorite movie of 2012 (Wreck it Ralph) is coming out on video today.  My son thought it was cool that it was released in theaters a couple days before my birthday and it came out on video on his dad's birthday.

Lily's Birthday - Part 2

When we got home from our trip to Canada on Fridat, Lily had presents to open.

First she opened Nana & Papa's presents.  She had to call and talk to Nana to tell her she LOVED her new scarf that she made.
Lily LOVES talking on the phone.

Last year Lily had bought Jingle the Husky Pup after Christmas with her own money.  They are an interactive stuffed animal and book Hallmark sells. (The dog reacts with noises when you read certain phrases in the book.)  She carried that dog around forever!  This year we gave Lily the new Bell Husky Pup.

Along with the extra book to read (that works with both puppies).
Glad she had a wonderful 6th birthday!!

Celebrating Lily's 6th Birthday!

My baby girl turned 6 yesterday.  Our schools were off on Friday so she celebrated in school on Thursday.  After she got off the bus on Thursday we took the kids to Great Wolf Lodge over the border in Canada.

On Friday morning we put our name in the drawing to be the "family of the day".  I was soooo shocked when they called our room number!!  It was an amazing extra gift for our birthday girl.  We got the cabana for the day, water, snacks (fruit, veggies & dip, cookies & a snack mix in the mini fridge) and a coupon book. The coupon book was good for a late check out (1pm), magic wand & to play the quest game, free arcade game tokens, free tickets in arcade (or mini golf if open), money off crafts in kid club & a free ride photo. It totally made Lily's day even more special.

Lily told me it was the best birthday ever.
Her favorite thing is the lazy river.  She loves to "swim" around and around and around and around.  We spent hours in there.
We had an amazing time Thursday & Friday!

On a personal note....I had turned off my phone shortly after taking these photos.  I am wishing I never turned back on my phone and my computer last night when we finally got home. My heart is broken for the loss of those sweet, innocent lives.  :'(

Sunday Citar - Birthday

"Presents don't really mean much to me. I don't want to sound mawkish, but - it was the realization that I have a great many people in my life who really love me, and who I really love."  ~ Gabriel Byrne

Today is my 39th Birthday.  As I look back and reflect, I thought this quote fit how I feel about birthday's perfectly.
(My sister, Aunt Peggy (my mom's Aunt) and myself)

As a child, just like my kids, I wondered what gifts I would receive for my birthday.
(me, my mom, my sister & my dad, circa my 7th birthday 1980)
As I got older, the ideas of birthdays and presents changed.  I grew up and learned that I should cherish memories more than objects.  I do not wish for anything but a nice day with my family on my birthday.  While I can not spend this special day with the rest of my family (in this photo) because they do not live near, I love them more than words.  This day is as much about them as it is about me.

Ok, so on a funny note....I just realized that my mom is younger in this photo (she is 27) than I was when I had Ian.

Thank you for stopping by Sunday Citar! This blog quote meme was created by Fresh Mommy. You can stop by her blog to see the quotes and photos that she and everyone else is loving right now.
