Cinderella Revamped

I was happy to see Cinderella get a new 'hair-do'.  I think it looks sooo much better!!
Her dress is also different from the last time we saw her.  This is what she looked like when we just went last month.
And this is the Cindy from this summer....
I personally LOVE the new 'costume' better.  I really didn't like the old wig...it looked so weird.

My husband prefers the old 'costume'.

How about you?

Wordful Wednesday - Magical

Every time we go to Disney as a family, I pre-order the Photopass CD.  Throughout our trip I try and get as many photos of us taken as possible by their photographers.  It's the only souvenir I really want.  I fiddled with the photos and ordered my CD a couple weeks ago.  It came last week.  YAY!

Dreaming of sunnier warmer weather.  :)

Shop is Open

I had some fun a couple weeks ago making some new centers & necklaces. These cuties are now for sale in my shop. I will be only taking orders for just these items for now. With my new job, I am still trying to find time to fit everything in. I will be open for about a week and mailing them out the first week of March. :)

Wordful Wednesday - New Camera

I LOVE to take photos.

LOL, my husband says I think everything is a photo-op.

He is right.  ;)

I like to document lots of things.  Not to mention I had to take great shots of my products to use in my shop.

I finally took the plunge in April of 2009 and bought a DSLR camera.  At the time, I decided to purchase a Sony one.  Not typically a popular choice in DSLR cameras.  Most people choose Nikon or Cannon when buying DSLR's.  I was upgrading from the film Minolta SLR I bought in 2001 after my son was born.  I absolutely LOVED my Minolta.  I also had an extra telephoto lens for it and didn't want to start from scratch.  What I found out was Sony purchased Minolta and most of Minolta's old glass lenses work on my camera.  That is the main reason I purchased my Sony.  I love my Sony camera.

PS- you can find some really old sweet Minolta glass lenses on ebay for my camera.  ;)

Anywho,  I bought myself a present last Friday and it arrived today.  I decided to upgrade my camera base.  Isn't it pretty?

With how much technology has changed, over the last few years, this Sony A65 is a HUGE difference over my Sony A200.  It is going to take some getting used to.  They have moved around alot of functions I use all the time.  Not to mention there are so many new neat things this camera can do.  Hello, I can take video's with my new camera now.  Super cool!
If you are interested in finding out more about the Sony A65 (which is actually a SLT (Single-Lens Translucent) not a DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) because the mirror does not snap up when taking a photo like in a DSLR) you can watch this awesome video made by B&H Photo.

Off to go take lots of pictures.  :)

PS- I do carry my camera with me all the time.  I use this small travel backpack camera bag made by tamrac

What kind of camera do you have?

New Camera Strap

YAY, my new camera strap arrived last week!
I purchased it from Something Strappy on Etsy.  She had posted this picture on her Facebook Fan page and contacted her to purchase one.

Glad I did because turns out that she no longer can get the fabric and only could make a limited amount of this camera strap.

Go check out her shop.  Her camera straps are unique and adorable.  Of course my favorite are the Disney Inspired ones.

PS...I was not given this strap or asked to review it and these are just my personal opinions.  I just felt the need to share the cuteness I found.  :)

Wordless Wednesday - Photo Bomb

My son's favorite park is Epcot because he LOVES the Japan Pavilion.  This is because their shop has TONS of Pokemon items.  He has LOVED Pokemon since he pre-school.
I had Ian sit outside in front of their huge Pokemon display so I could take a photo.
Jeff took Lily inside the shop to start looking around.  That's when Jeff got the bright idea he should photo bomb Ian.
Surprise!
Mission accomplished.  :)

(Lily loves the shop, too.  Her favorite is Choco Cat...funny because when my sister and I were younger we loved Hello Kitty and the rest of her other friends, too.)

Tray of Goodies

This weekend I finished up the Easter & St. Patrick's orders.  This morning they were off to their new homes.
Love looking at trays like this.  It's very satisfying to see all the items together like this.

Not sure what I will be making next.  I am thinking princesses....?

Besties + Family + Disney

When we planned our surprise trip to Disney, I found out that my sister was arriving the day before we were leaving.  This was their 1st trip to Disney World.  It was awesome that we could could meet up with them and hang out for a bit.
Loved sharing some of the magic with them.  Wish we could have spent more time together.  We love seeing them!

Winter Wonderland

One week down!  Doing Happy Dance.  (If you don't know what I am talking about, you can read more about my new job here.)  Everyone is still adjusting here.  The day I gave birth to my son was the last full time, regular paying job I had.  I have had a couple part time jobs and my Whimsical Creations business since, but not a full time job for an employer.  Now that the kids are both in school, I am very happy to be back in the workforce.  It doesn't hurt that I telecommute.  :)

Telecommuting, I saw this outside my window today....
It has been a winter wonderland here all day.
At times it was snowing pretty hard.  It was heavy wet snow.

It was the kind of snow that stuck to the trees.
How is the weather where you live?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Wordless Wednesday - Shamrock

I opened up facebook today to find a friend talking about Shamrock Shakes.  Looks like they have been spotted.  They are my husband's favorite.  He looks forward to them every year.

Do you like them?
(I personally do not)

Tinkerbell Bag

When Lily grows out of clothes, I usually pass them on to a friend.

Some of her clothes with cute designs I hang onto and give them to my mom to 'make something' out of them.  Most of the time my mom makes bags. Lily loves bags.  (You can see some other bags she has made in the past here.)
This bag was perfect for our trip.  I placed items that Lily would like to do on the plane.  (a few coloring books, colored pencils & crayons)  I placed it next to her on the plane for easy reach.
To make this bag, my mom used one of Lily's old hooded sweatshirts.
My mom removed the zipper from the front and put the 2 sides together.  She also removed the sleeves and sewed them up.
She left the pockets and then added a snap.  She also added lots of pompom fringe.  She even added some pompom fringe to Tink's shoes.
She used a couple different ribbons to make the shoulder strap (putting a fusable web in between them to make them stiffer).  And then she added this cute bow the end of each side.
