This is one of my favorites. Love all of his rolls and that chin! Sigh...he is taller than me now and need to shave his mustache.

Missed me?
Happy New Year!
Wow what a crazy few months it has been. I have never gone a whole month not writing on here since I started the blog in 2008.
Lots of stuff has happened since Christmas.
I am finally feeling better. Thankfully. Pneumonia sucks & Pleurisy is AWFUL!! Just sayin.
Here is to a fabulous February!!

Valentine Frame
When my family came up a few weeks ago, my mom & sister went through all my containers of little clay pieces and snatched a bunch. It was fun to watch them go through what I had made and pull out their favorites. My mom kept asking me if it was ok she took more as she kept adding to her pile. I had to keep reassuring her she could have anything she wanted, I can always make more. :)
While they were going though making their piles I was laughing asking them what they were going to do with them all. I knew they would come up with something fantastic, but I was curious. They are both really creative in their own right.
My sister grabbed a whole set of Angry Birds and after going back and forth with what she wanted me to do with them (she originally wanted some sort of ornament) she settled on magnets. I can still remember her telling me last year to make Angry Birds.
So with them in mind and the cute little bird I posted in the last post, I made this little frame yesterday.
I started out with a dollar store frame and a few of my Valentine's flat back clay bow centers.
I preferred the frame to be white instead of the silver, so I spray painted it. Then I added the little clay pieces to the frame with hot glue. Typically I would use E6000 because I find it has a better bond with the clay, but I wanted to take photos before the sun went down today. And here it is....my cute little Valentine's frame with my little man in it.
Now I just need to make another one and put my other sweetie in it.

Valentine Sneak Peeks.
After cleaning up all my Christmas decorations (I usually wait until after the new year....but really wanted to take them down while I had time),
Spending way too much time on pinterest,
Catching up on tiVo'd tv,
and dealing with sick kids,
I decided it was time to break back out the clay.
Here are a couple sneak peeks of what I made today...
{these are bow centers made out of polymer clay}
They are all baked up now (along with lots of conversation hearts) and ready to have a photo shoot tomorrow. :)

Aloha Friday #40
It is Aloha Friday! In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that people take it easy and look forward to the weekend.
Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your comment below and link in Kailani’s blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
This weeks question is:
Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? If so, what are your plans?
Today is typically the day my husband and myself do something small to celebrate Valentine's Day. You see, 14years ago today (Feb 11th) my husband asked me to marry him. So ever since then we have beaten the crowds and celebrated Valentine's on the 11th instead of the 14th. We usually just have a special lunch or dinner together. Tonight my husband works until 7pm and my family seems to be fighting a cold, so it will be takeout dinner around the coffee table for the 2 of us tonight. (Our kids go to bed early, Ian 8pm & Lily 7pm) Sounds perfect to me. :)

Beaded Heart
My son covered this heart frame a couple years ago with tiny beads (it was a kit from the dollar section of Target). All I remember those beads were a pain in the butt...but it turned out great. When I helped him we added another layer of glue to the top so the beads stayed. I have a confession to make...there were a couple of these crafts that year at Target and I bought a couple extra to do with Lily in a few years. They are in my present stash in the attic. Yes, I am crazy like that and I think that far ahead.

Over at Just a Girl she made one with bigger beads. Looked like a perfect project to make with Lily.
Anyway, I bought the heart & beads at Hobby Lobby. The beads were 50% off and the wooden heart was originally $1.99 (I think that the heart was on sale, too). I covered the heart with a pretty thick layer of craft glue and then dropped the beads on it. Lily had fun pushing all the beads into the glue. There were about 10 beads left when I was done. I didn't like the cream ribbon (it looks white in the photo, but it was cream) that came on the heart so I cut it off before I put the glue and beads on. After the glue dried I added a light pink ribbon to hang it.
