Wordful Wednesday - Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone has a Happy-Ween!

I just wanted to let everyone know we have power and are safe here. Our kids had no school yesterday. They called it really early Monday afternoon. Seems so strange to not have a "snow day" but a "hurricane day" in this part of the country.

Thoughts & prayers for those who can't say the same.

Valentine Sneak Peeks.

After cleaning up all my Christmas decorations (I usually wait until after the new year....but really wanted to take them down while I had time),
Spending way too much time on pinterest,
Catching up on tiVo'd tv,
and dealing with sick kids,
I decided it was time to break back out the clay.

Here are a couple sneak peeks of what I made today...
{these are bow centers made out of polymer clay}
They are all baked up now (along with lots of conversation hearts) and ready to have a photo shoot tomorrow.  :)

Wordful Wednesday - Birthday Owl

I was contacted by a person asking me to make a girly owl photo holder for her daughter's 1st birthday.   She also asked me to make a bow center to match it.

(made out of polymer clay by me)

I Sew Lucky Owl Giveaway {CLOSED}

I would like to introduce you to April, she makes the cutest owls and other cute creations!!  Ian has 2 of her owls and they are adorable!  I won a big one last year and bought a little one for his stocking.

Here is a little about the artist behind these adorable creations...

1. Tell us a little about yourself…
Well, what I always say to everyone is that I am a mother of 5 children. That is the biggest part of my life:) I also have an awesome husband that lets me do this crazy craft thing:) I taught myself how to sew about 3 yrs ago and have been hooked ever since. I am so glad that there is something like Etsy to let me make money at what I LOVE doing.

2. How long have you been doing this?
I have been a huge scrapbooker for 12 yrs. and first was doing crafts hows and selling scrapbooks and cards. I saw the Pottery Barn owls and thought I am going to make those and sell those at craft shows. They did so well that I started selling them on Etsy now for a year and a half.

3. Who/What inspires you?
I LOVE looking at magazines. Especially Pottery Barn!! Fabric really inspires me. I love buying it and always can't wait to use it:)

4. What's your favorite piece?
Well I have few. Right now though one of my newer ones I think is just the cutest:)

5. What advice do you have for a beginner?
Really you have to have faith in yourself. I was going to close my shop in April last year. I had only like 50 sales or so. I just came up with some new designs and stuck with it. Now I have over 700 sales and really excited at every sale I make and thankful that there are people that like my work:)
6. Where can we find you?

Wordless Wednesday-Snow & Joy

On Monday afternoon it finally decided to snow here in Buffalo. After going out to dinner the kids decided to run around in the snow.
Lily HATED the snow the past couple years. This year she seems to LOVE it.

They had so much fun throwing snowballs at daddy. (Ian could not throw them at me because I had the camera...hahaha)

Have I told you that my kids bring such...
I would also like to introduce you to Fredrick the Owl.

I have a favor to ask of my blog readers. I entered my swirly santa ornament in the Michaels Handmade Holiday Contest. I would LOVE to win. (who wouldn't?) Would you please go here and give me 5 snowmen. No need to register...just click through and click 5 snowman (under the picture of my santa click on the last snowman). Thanks a bunch!!

Please note: You can vote once a day.
