Wordful Wednesday - Rapunzel Tower

The new Rapunzel Tower in Magic Kingdom is just beautiful all lit up.
It amazes me the attention to detail.
The new bathrooms are just beautiful.  (Here are photos I took in January during the construction before we knew it was a bathroom.)

Princesses are in the shop

I am currently open with a few princesses.  (I plan on doing other princesses after this batch, so don't fear you will see the rest.)  I will closing up again sometime at the end of next week.

Rapunzel's Tower

Disney World is ever changing.  Especially with their new Fantasyland expansion.
When we at Magic Kingdom this summer, they had this construction wall up at the end of Fantasyland going toward Liberty Square.  I wondered what they were doing over there.  You couldn't see anything beyond the walls at that time.
Then about a month before we left chatter started on facebook about Rapunzel's tower.  I was soooo excited to see it when we went this time.  I guess it's on top of what is going to be a huge bathroom over in that corner of the park.
If this is the outside, I wonder what the inside is going to look like?
****Updated on 2-8-13 to add****
Apparently I was wrong.  It looks like it is going to be a meet and greet for Rapunzel.  Even more excited about it!!  You can read more about it here.

Finally

Finally after having the same blog header for the last couple years, I decided to FINALLY get off my butt and make a new one.  What do you think?

While the photos are not brand new...they are way more recent than the ones that were up there.  ;)

Dress #2 - Rapunzel Pillowcase Dress

Tuesday I shared these dresses.  Today is...

Day 2 - Dress 2

Remember this Rapunzel Pillowcase dress my mom made last spring?  Well, I found another pillowcase and asked my mom to make another dress.  ;)

This is the pillowcase I purchased from KMart.  They didn't have it at mt local KMart so I bought it on-line and had it shipped to the store.  ;)  Just want to let you know he material was really thin so my mom lined the dress.

Here is the front.
And this is the back of the dress.
Another look at the back...princess charming.
The sleeves and pleated ruffle at the bottom are made from a satiny material.  So soft.
My mom also added mini pom pom fringe that I bought from Pick Your Plum.  LOVE pom pom fringe.
LOVE it!!

Can't wait to show you the rest of these dresses.  Tomorrow will be Dress #3.

Rapunzel

Lily woke up and LOVED her.  She asked for a few more flowers in her hair and I was more than happy to add them.
Now I just need to string the necklace.  I am going to wait to do that because I have a few more special pieces to make for more outfits.  ;D

Wordful Wednesday - Inspiration

Tonight I was inspired to create a bead to match Lily's new Rapunzel Dress my mom made.
Before Lily went to bed she helped pick out colors and gave me a bit of direction...she told me she wanted a crystal on her.  :D
Hope when she wakes up she loves her as much as I do.  :D

Edited to add: You can see Rapunzel finished here.

Rapunzel Dress

Last month I showed a sneak peek of the fabric I bought for this dress here.

I was on a mission to find some cute Rapunzel fabric that was different.  When I saw this pillowcase I knew it would be perfect.  (note, you can also find it here at Target.)

My mother based this dress on the pattern she found here.  In addition to the Tangled pillowcase, she used one white pillow case to line the dress because the tangled pillowcase is thin.
She also made her own casing for the tie because she didn't want to lose the flowers at the top.
My mom embellished the front of the dress by embroidering it....
Once again, my mom hit this one out of the park!  She took an crazy idea of mine and made it into a beautiful one of a kind dress for her grand-daughter. Just AMAZING!!
Again, THANK YOU MOM for making these for Lily!  I truly appreciate all of the time you took making these beautiful works of art!  LOVE YOU LOTS!

Wordful Wednesday - Obsession

Now that we are counting down, let the outfit collecting and making commence.  I did the same thing for our last trip to Disney.

My mom is making Lily a dress out of this pillowcase I bought.  I can NOT wait to see it!!  Thank you mom!  :D
Actually I have been collecting clothes for our Disney trip for a few months now.  I know I am crazy, but I like to be prepared.  ^_^

Wordful Wednesday - Hours

Yep, I am one of those crazy people who waited in line 2hrs for my children to see Rapunzel & Flynn Ryder.
The kids went with Jeff and road a couple rides while I waited.  It really wasn't that bad.  The people in front of us were from Buffalo also.  They had twin girls that were 10 days older than Lily.
Funny thing is Lily would have been fine not seeing them...we were going to get out of line and go, but Ian really wanted to see Flynn.  Yep, my almost 10yr old son thinks Flynn Ryder is cool.
Ian walked away telling me he now just needs a satchel and a goatee and he'll look just like him.  Priceless.
