Tinkerbell Bag

When Lily grows out of clothes, I usually pass them on to a friend.

Some of her clothes with cute designs I hang onto and give them to my mom to 'make something' out of them.  Most of the time my mom makes bags. Lily loves bags.  (You can see some other bags she has made in the past here.)
This bag was perfect for our trip.  I placed items that Lily would like to do on the plane.  (a few coloring books, colored pencils & crayons)  I placed it next to her on the plane for easy reach.
To make this bag, my mom used one of Lily's old hooded sweatshirts.
My mom removed the zipper from the front and put the 2 sides together.  She also removed the sleeves and sewed them up.
She left the pockets and then added a snap.  She also added lots of pompom fringe.  She even added some pompom fringe to Tink's shoes.
She used a couple different ribbons to make the shoulder strap (putting a fusable web in between them to make them stiffer).  And then she added this cute bow the end of each side.
 Linking to these parties, here.

Sunday Citar - New Paths

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." ~ Walt Disney

Last year I wrote about my husband's new adventure when he completely changed career paths and became a Jr. Developer.  The last year has been fantastic.  He absolutely LOVES his job.  The company and the people he works with are wonderful  Happy daddy = Happy family.

Well, I have been given the opportunity to change my own professional career path.  The opportunity arose for me to work for the same company as a Jr Developer (the same job as my husband) and I had to take it.  Computer coding isn't completely foreign to me.  You see before my husband even thought of coding, I already knew a bunch.  I had to take a few coding classes in college (I have a AAS in Engineering) and have learned even more while writing this blog.  I still have a ton to learn, too.  I am so excited for this opportunity for me and our family.  Over the last month, I have been training with my husband and this past Friday I officially started.

"So what is going to happen to the little old clay shop?" you ask.

If you follow me over on my facebook page, you already know I changed how I am taking orders.  Last month I was only open for about a week taking Valentine orders.  Then I closed up, made all of the orders and mailed everyone's packages at once.  Part of the reason I did that was because we took a ''surprise vacation'' and I was training with my husband.  I loved how it worked out so I will probably be doing the same type of thing every month.  I will be creating a few new new items each month and then posting them along with a few old favorites in my shop.  I will also be holding Ready To Ship days over on my facebook fan page.

Here is to new opportunities and paths!  :)

Ozwald the Lucky Rabbit

Ian told me that he wanted to buy an Ozwald hat on this trip.

He loves his Ozwald Hat.
He got tons of high fives from cast members because of the hat!
He even got high fives from the people in the parade due to the hat.
Because Ozwald ROCKS!!

For those of you who do not know who Ozwald is...
Ozwald was Walt Disney's 1st cartoon character he created.  As Oswald grew in popularity, Oswald was taken away from Walt Disney, along with most of his animators and then Walt created Mickey Mouse.  You can read more about Ozwald here.

Ian loves obscure Disney characters and thought Ozwald should have been a part of long lost Character week. I couldn't have agreed more.

Maybe someday.  :)

Dream

"Yes, my child, but like all dreams, well, I'm afraid this can't last forever. You have only until midnight, and..." - Fairy Godmother
Cinderella is one of my favorite Disney movies.  It reminds me of my grandmother (my mom's mom).  She used to sing the songs while working in the kitchen.  Hearing those songs to this day makes me smile.

This is the 1st time we stopped to see the Fairy Godmother.  This woman was AWESOME!!!!
It feels like it was yesterday we were wearing shorts and the sun was kissing our faces.  After watching the weather report tonight, it said we could get up to a foot of snow by tomorrow night.  Um, yeah...dreaming of moving to Florida!

Crossing fingers and toes the snow stays south of the city!
