Happy 2016!

Hello I am back!

It has been a long, really long time since I have blogged.  Almost 2 years!  While I have posted in instagram, twitter & on facebook (personal page & fan page) over the last 2 years, my little blog has taken a backseat.  I have wanted to post so many times, but never seemed to find the time.

Soooo much has happened in 2 years.

The highlights...
  • We sold our Tiny House & MOVED! (a few miles away, lol)
  • I now have a full time job outside of the house!
  • I still make clay pieces and my etsy shop is still open.
  • I did 4 craft shows this year and had an open house.
  • My husband has a new job.
  • My son is in high school and is almost 6ft tall.
  • My daughter is in a different elementary school (same district) and is now in 3rd grade.
  • Jeff & I Rocked our Disney Side and did the 24hour day at Magic Kingdom!  (without kids)

Here's to a new year!

What I Did Wednesday

Yep, I know it's Thursday.  I just thought I would share what I did Wednesday though.

I spent yesterday sorting, photographing, packaging & mailing all of this.  All while listening to Lily repeat, "mom, can you help me blow my nose?"  My little one is sick and stayed home from school yesterday.  Ian started this cold last week and now Lily has it.  Hopefully Jeff & I will be spared.

PS...the photo above was all made after I mailed this batch on Saturday...

Wordful Wednesday - Brrr

It was very warm here over the weekend.  Having 70 degree weather in Buffalo during November is very unusual.  Taking advantage of the beautiful weather I raked the leaves and pulled out the shovels, snow-blower and sleds.  Monday night the temps plunged and it is very chilly out now.  Winter will be here before we know it.  The kids are excited to see snow...me, not so much.

Pokemon FINALLY!

Ian has LOVED pokemon for what seems like forever!  At least to him forever.  Recently I had a customer ask me to make a couple pokemon characters and the pokeball as Christmas ornaments.  Ian was soooo excited that someone wanted a Pokemon!  After years of making girly ornaments I am finally making Pokemon.  I mean he really wanted to sit next to me an watch me make them!!  When he woke up and saw this on my tray yesterday he told me he thought I had his figurine on it...score mom...I feel great about my version of Snivy.  Now I just need to make him some.  :)

Sneak Peeks

I have had a personal facebook account for a few years.  I created a fan page for my business a while ago.  I never really used my fan page until a few months ago.  I am so glad I did!  I LOVE posting sneak peeks of what I am working on.  I have a tendency of posting photos of custom orders there.  Here is a custom bow center I posted last night.  This one will end up being a personalized ornament next Christmas.

This weeks question is:
How was your 2010?

Mine was great!  Personally and professionally it was fantastic and I definitely can not complain.  I am definitely looking forward to a wonderful 2011.

Here is just a portion of the custom orders I created this holiday season.  Some are one of a kind, some were added to my shop this year after creating them and some will be definitely added next year.  (I do create ornaments all year round, so if there is something you would like for next Christmas please keep that in mind.)
A BIG thank you to all of my customers this year!  I am very grateful for all of you.

A few stats as of today:

I have had 605 sales in my etsy shop.
367 of those sales on etsy were from 2010!
My etsy shop has 1212 "Hearts".
My blog has 923 Blog Followers and 986 google reader subscribers and 123 e-mail subscribers.
There are 1077 Fans of Whimsical Creations on Facebook

Those numbers are just mind blowing to me.

Here's looking forward to a Fantastic 2011!  Have a safe New Year!!

Wordful Wednesday - Nativity

I am smitten...
A longtime customer asked me to make her daughter a nativity bracelet.  I LOVE how the focal bead came out!  I love it sooooo much that I am going to be making this into an ornament. =)

I entered 6 ornaments and they picked the ornament pictured here to be in the running to become this weeks winner in the Better Homes and Gardens Ornament Contest!  Please go and vote for me.  You can vote daily.  =)

Reindeer Tutorial

I have been wanting to do another tutorial for a while.

Here is how to make this cute little reindeer photo holder.

You will need:
Wire (I use 20 guage)
Chocolate Brown Clay
Black Clay
Red Clay
White Clay (for eyes, you can also use seed beads or marker or just black clay for these, too)
I use liquid clay between all of the joints for a better bond, but it is not necessary.

LOL, I noticed after I baked him that one of the hoofs lines were not in the front.  Oops.

**Please note this tutorial is for personal use.  If you make it & blog about it, I would love the linky love.**

Wordful Wednesday - Birthday Owl

I was contacted by a person asking me to make a girly owl photo holder for her daughter's 1st birthday.   She also asked me to make a bow center to match it.
