Wordless Wednesday - Silly Boy

On Sunday we went apple picking.  Evidently Ian decided it would be best to act like a goofball every time I picked up my camera.
He just had to photobomb his sister...
Gotta love 12 year old boys.  O_o

New Addition

It's official.

We are crazy cat people.

Last Tuesday while doing errands we went into a place called Tabby Town (a cat adoption center).

Typically in these types of places, we walk in, pet some kitties, the kids plead for another, Jeff pleads for another and I tell them no and leave.

Well, Tuesday was different.  Jeff fell in LOVE with a kitten.  She was purring up a storm and kept grabbing his head, like she was petting him though the bars.  It was really sweet.

So my heart melted and we went back the next day while the kids were in school...

and adopted her.
Jeff is happy.  He has a little buddy.  She loves to sleep on him.
Mind you she tries to sleep on your head & neck first.  Kittens are so silly.
Our other 2 kitties (they are sisters we adopted at the same time), do not know what to think of the new rambunctious little one.
They seem annoyed more than anything.

Now there are 3...
Yep, crazy cat people here.  (I was informed at the bus stop the other morning by a dad that anyone with more than 2 cats are crazy cat people.)
She came with a name of Curious.  Curious reminds me of Alice, so we I have decided to call her Alice.  Lily still wants to still call her Curious.  Jeff & Ian think her name should be Kevin, for the bird in Up (was a girl, but Russell insisted on calling it Kevin).  Then they said her name could be Alice Kevin Adey (AKA).  ;)

Wordful Wednesday - I Choose U

I know Halloween in over a month away, but we have already been planning for it here in the Adey household.

This year when we asked Ian what he wanted to be, he told me he wanted to be Ash Ketchum from Pokemon.  Ian has been a Pokemon fan since what seems forever.  Not sure why, but he has never dressed up as any Pokemon character for Halloween in the past.  After searching I found him a costume on line.

Lily had intended on being a princess (using one of her many princess costumes).

That was until last night....when we went into the Halloween store.  We found a girly Pikachu costume.  Lily said she was perfectly happy matching Ian and going as a pokemon character.   I couldn't resist.
She couldn't wait to get home and try on the costume...they were being such goofballs and couldn't stop laughing.
He insisted on trying to put her on his shoulder.
Looking forward to Halloween (in Disney) this year.  :)

Wordful Wednesday - Cheering

On Friday we went to our first football high school game.  Ian plays the home games (in addition to competing) so we decided to check one out.
We decided to stick around after dropping off Ian and just hung out.  We watched some of a volleyball game and then watched the football teams warm up.  Brought me back to when I was younger going to my local football games.
We pointed out the cheerleaders to Lily.  She thought they looked sooooo cool.
Conversation with Lily before the game.  (We saw some cheerleaders walking around.)

Lily - "Momma"
Me  - "Yes Lily"
Lily - "Are those cheerleaders?"
Me  - "Yes Lily"
Lily - "Do they do autographs?
Me  - "Not normally, but I am sure they will if you ask them."

Lily - "Cool!"
Me  - "You don't have anything for them to sign"
Lily - "I can bring something next time. How about my shirt or sneakers?"

Lily - "Can I go say hi?"

Kids are the cutest!

After each cheer the girls did, Lily would say, "Go Cheerleaders!"

Marching Band

So Ian is now in the high school marching band.

I have so many photos to share, but we have been so busy lately I have not had a chance to go through them all.

I went to Ian's last day of band camp and video taped the kids on their 1st complete run though.  Because I am on the same level as the kids and it is a bit hard to see what they are doing.  Ian is the one with the white sousaphone (tuba).
(*the kids in black are all the seniors and will be leaving next year.)

Thursday night was their 1st Uniformed Rehearsal.  It was pretty cool to watch what he has been practicing.  I am impressed he learned to move like that in a week while carrying a huge instrument and play at the same time.

Today is their first competition!  Can't wait to watch.

First Day of School 2013

Yesterday was the kids first day of school.

Like every other year I took lots of photos.

When I say lots, I mean way too many.  ;)

I say this every year, but I can not get over how much bigger they are from last year.
Ian didn't want me to take photos of him holding the paper...but I told him he had to.  I am a meany like that.
Then Ian was off to the bus stop...but I made him take one more photo...with the paper.  :)
Well at least I thought he was off.  He was supposed to be picked up around 7:30 (1st period starts at 8am), but the bus never came until almost 8:15.  Jeff grabbed him around 8:00 from the bus stop and then drove him and his friend into school.  The Middle school buses were a mess yesterday.

Then it was Lily's turn.

Lily had to wait a bit longer to get on the bus.  She doesn't get picked up until almost 9:00.  When we went back out for her to leave...she was sooo ready for the bus to come.  Such a goofball.

And she was off.
The kids had a great day at school.

I was going to create this post yesterday, but I had an eye exam and this time they dilated my eyes....I couldn't see anything most of the time the kids were in school.

Wordful Wednesday - One more sleep.

Only 1 more sleep until my kids go back to school!  Doing happy dance.

***Don't get me wrong, I am sad that summer is ending & I love my kids, but I am happy for them to be going back to school.***

Typically we start school the day after Labor Day in our town.  This year they start tomorrow (Thursday).

Yesterday Ian & I went back to add more things to his locker.   I know my last post had a photo of his locker, but I had to take more with my better camera.  Yep, I made him stand next to it to take photos...I am embarrassing that way.  ;)

Today I am dropping off my daughter's supplies at her school.  Lily's 1st grade list wasn't that bad compared to Ian's 1st grade list (which had 23 glue sticks on it that year...seriously crazy).  These lists are really out of hand.  I never bought this many supplies when I was in college.  It's nuts.  I am still trying to figure out how he is supposed to bring home all these binders to do homework.  O_o

Only one more sleep.
