I'm Back!

Well I am back!! We had a fabulous time and I got a lot done. The weather was beautiful. On Saturday it was 60 degrees and warm. There were people skiing, too. I have also come to the conclusion I need to purge some of my scrapbooking supplies...so stay tuned. I am going to put a bunch of Creative Memories supplies on ebay. I may also do a giveaway for some. I am also debating on buying a SLR base for my camera lenses. I love my Minolta 35m camera, but I would love to be able to blog with those pictures (much better than my digital). I would also love to dabble in the world of digital scrapbooking.

Today was cold and windy out. We even had a few flakes flying around. I need to stay in the spring frame of mind. Here is what I found to do that.

Scrap & Spa Day One

So it is @ 11pm at scrap & spa. We have been having a ball. On the way down to Ellicotville we stopped at Walmart in Springville to buy supplies (snacks and mixers for our drinks). Julie & I were the first people to arrive (besides Kathy & her friend who stayed at the inn on Thursday night). We relaxed for a bit and then went to lunch in town. There are so many cute shops in Ellicotville. We did a bit of shopping.



I have known Julie since I was a senior in high school. We graduated in 1992. This is us in 1993 (from left to right...Sarah, Me, Julie) at the Erie County Fair (now called the America's Fair). at my wedding in 1998....and today (2009)...Julie's scrapbook... And me while blogging. Hope everyone is having a great night! Cheers!!

WOOT WOOT!!

Today I am going to Scrap & Spa!! WOOT WOOT. My bags are all packed and I am all ready to go pick up my friend and get on the road.

Every year I go with a bunch of other women to Scrapbook all weekend with NO interruptions. My friend, Kathy, is a Creative Memories Consultant and she has been coordinating this fabulous getaway for the past 6 years. I have been going since the beginning. In the beginning we went somewhere else, but this weekend will be the 3rd year going to the Inn at Holiday Valley.

I bust some major butt and get LOTS done while there along with getting to hang out with great friends.

Buffalo Zoo

A week and a half ago we took the kids to the Buffalo Zoo. It was chilly when we got there, but by the time we left it warmed up quite a bit. Lily seems to get the whole zoo thing now. When I took the kids in Nov, it wasn't as much fun...remember here.

First signs of Spring...

Playing with pine cones. Lily wanted to pile all the pine cones up in one spot. Ian wanted to STOMP on them instead.In one of the polar bear exhibits they were shooting water toward the pool. This big chunk of ice looked really neat. My son thought it would be a cool water slide.While Jeff, Lily and myself were watching & taking pictures of the bear hang onto the tire....
My son was more enamored with the funny birds eating the poo. All my son kept saying was Mommy, please take a picture of the birds eating the poop. Ok, so I did....what does that say about me?My favorite exhibit (and my husbands) happened to be the new rain forest. It is beautiful and the did a fabulous job! These pictures were taken on a landing you can walk up to and look down. We spent a long time in this building looking and finding new animals around every corner. One of the favorite points in the Rain Forest was counting and finding all of the alligators. These are the pictures you get when you hand the digital camera to a 7yr old boy. Oh yes, I have deleted the ones of the ground and people we didn't know.

I enjoy reading allsort's blog. She is an amazing artist and when she blogged about her most recent addition I had to share. She just put these adorable bunny paper dolls in her shop. Wouldn't these be adorable in a little girl's Easter basket!?!

Betcha Didn't Know...

Over at Barking Mad they are running a contest where you have to post something that they didn't know about me in order to win an Extreme Twilight giftpack.

Well, here goes nothing. While I LOVE vampire movies/shows and anything sci-fi/fantasy (just finished watching tonight's episode of The Legend of the Seeker), I have not read any of the Twilight series. I have wanted to for a while, but never seem to find the time. I really would like to get the series of books on tape and listen to them when I drive to visit my parents 4 hrs away. My husband and I did that with all of the Harry Potter books. (Love Jim Dale (the narator for all of the Harry Potter books on tape/CD), he did a FABULOUS job!!)

Oh yeah on another note...another thing you didn't know about me. To the surprise of all of the my friends...I have NEVER seen Greece (the musical). Yep, never. Don't know why, but I haven't.

New Creations and a Thank You!!

My friend Amy from Giggleberry Creations asked me to create a couple new custom items for her. She was my first customer and I have created many custom orders for her, see here & here. Not to mention she has become a fabulous friend across the pond in Australia. She had a baby boy named Harrison Ian (I am partial to the middle name, it's my sons) on March 1st. I was planning on sending her a baby gift when her baby bub arrived and when she asked me to create a special ornament just for him...it was a perfect idea.

She also asked me to make a special magnet for her parents, who helped her out after the baby was born. She sent me pictures and a drawing and this is what I created.
