Another Shop Update...

As promised here is another shop update.

I would like to thank every one's kind words regarding my photo/place card holder I made for my friends wedding. She LOVES them, too! I have decided to add them to my shop. I can make the ribbon any color you would like. I will do a quantity discount if you would like these as favors for your own wedding. Please contact me for pricing.

I also made a cupcake with vanilla icing and a cherry on top. I guess the other night when I made the cake I had a sweet tooth. =P

Shop Update....

Birthday Collection

I have decided to create (or shall I say finish) a birthday collection.

Wedding

On Sunday I went shopping with my friend, Tina, for her wedding dress and my bridesmaid dress. We found our dresses. This is the bridesmaid dress that I will be wearing. The color is champagne. The photo here I took from the David's Bridal website seems more white, but it really isn't.More detail.So I got to work today and made a place card holder. I realized today the 3-tier wedding cake that I make is too small to add a place card to. I decided to make one larger. Well, the top tier looked silly. So finally after many attempts at figuring out the sizing this is what I came up with. A 2 tier cake with a bow on top. It measures 1 1/8 inches tall (before bow) and 1 1/4 wide. The ribbon on the cake I made is closer to the color of my dress.

Pretties

Today Monarchdancer included me in this cute treasury. Go here to check it out. Thank you for including my wedding cake ornament.The funny thing is I was just talking about this ornament with my friend yesterday. She is getting married in July and I am her only bridesmaid. We went dress shopping yesterday. As my gift to her, I am making her favors. She really likes the 3 tier wedding cakes. I am going to make them into place card holders that will double as photo holders. Can't wait to see how they turn out. My friend also told me that her wedding cake is going to look like my wedding cake! I am soooo flattered.

It seems that blogger has decided to remove anonymous followers. The are still following, but they are not included in the number on the left sidebar. I was a bit depressed that the number went down around 20 followers in the matter of a hour. NUTS. I am very grateful for all of my followers and would love it if you would follow me publicly.

What I have learned this week.

Planes don't drop from the sky!?!?

(at least they usually don't)

I live in Buffalo, NY and have been in shock since I first heard the news that Flight 3407 crashed. I decided that I wasn't going to turn on news coverage in front of my 7 year old son. I don't want him afraid of flying or to freak out every time he sees a plane overhead. How do you explain to a 7yr old what happened? We have planes flying over our home all the time. My husband grew up a couple streets from the airport. I worked in a hotel by the airport for years. I do not know anyone personally who died in the crash. I do know people who are directly effected because they new people who died. One of my husband's friends lost 3 of his co-workers in the crash.

Today is the launch of the Cora Paige's Playground Fundraiser on Etsy. I have made this sweet little daisy necklace. I am donating 100% of the proceeds directly to the Cora's Playground Fund. Cora Paige

This sweet little Daisy necklace I made was inspired by the life of Cora Paige. It is made with polymer clay and in the center of the daisy is a pink Swarovski Crystal. The pendant comes on a length of ribbon you can tie in a bow. This sweet little girl's memory will live on at Cora's Playground at Grace Community Church in Newton, Kansas. I will donate 100% of the proceeds directly to the Cora's Playground fund.

I would like to thank Joy's Hope for coming up with such a fabulous idea to help the Mac's out. Daydreams by Design and sara & abraham collaborated together to create and donate this sweet blog button. It links directly to all items that are being sold on

Every little bit helps

I follow and read many blogs. Through PamperingBeki's blog, I learned of the story of Baby Cora and her struggle with cancer. It broke my heart on Sunday when I found out baby Cora passed away. I can't imagine the pain the family is going through right now. All I can do is hug my babies.



To honor Cora's memory her parents are constructing a playground and are accepting donations to help with the project. Also an etsy shop, Joy's Hope is donating 100% of her proceeds from each sale of her Messy Flower headbands/pins to the Cora playground.

Mamalicious Monday

So for the past 2 weeks I have written about my daughter. I have decided to write about my son this week. He is 7 and LOVES Bakugan. For those who don't know what Bakugan are, they are little balls with a magnet in the bottom and when they hit metal they spring open and stick to the metal. Santa was very generous with the Bakugan this year. So what does a kid do with that many Bakugan? This is what mine does....

And he is very proud of his creation. =D

Mamalicious Monday

On Saturday my husband and my son went over to a friend's house. They left when I put my daughter down for a nap. When Lily woke up she was pretty upset that daddy & on (how she says Ian) were gone. We had a mommy and me day. She grabbed her 2 stuffed bedtime care bears and handed me the big one and kept the baby one for herself. We sat side by side on the floor with our care bears in our laps. Lily was so excited we were both wearing our pink pajamas and our pink slippers. We held hands and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (again). Lily was so adorable. Every few minute she would look up and me and smile. What a fun mommy and me day.
