All Lined Up

Lily has been collecting Beanie Boos aka Big Eyes.

On Christmas Day, Lily received more.

I walked into the living room and this is what I found.
She explained that they were all lined up to go to gym class.

Not Me Monday - wk7

I did not stand in line for 45min on Tuesday to sign my son up for swimming. While standing in line, my daughter did not walk up to a boy and give him a hug and my son did not declare after chatting with a different boy he made a friend. I did not wish it was that easy for adults to make friends.

It did not warm my heart when my daughter said 'my best friend Ian' and wanted to hold his hand while I was pushing her in the stroller. Kids say the darnedest things!

I did not decide this week that I am going to put my shop on vacation for the month of July. I do not have a holiday, wedding, 3 anniversaries, a mini vacation and a birthday in the month of July. Whew, I am not tired just thinking about all of those celebrations.

I did not go to 2 parties on Saturday. One party was not for my nephew. My nephew did not turn 14. (OMG...where does time go?!?!) I met my husband babysitting that sweet little baby boy. My brother-in-law introduced me to my husband shortly after my nephew was born. I remember teaching him to say the word car. He is no longer a baby...he is almost as tall as my husband. Which is scary seeing my husband is 6'2".
The second party was not a graduation party for a friend's son. I did not feel old watching the teenagers screwing around. We did have lots of fun. I did not take lots of photos of flowers. =P

I have not lost 5lbs in the past 2weeks. I do not have 40lbs to go.

I did not stop the car on Saturday to take a picture of that damn cottonwood tree. Remember last week?
So what have you NOT been doing this week?
**I also wanted to add, my grandmother came home from the hospital on Saturday. I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes this week. We think she needs hip replacement surgery. She has a cast up her arm past her elbow. She will not be painting for some time.

Mish Mosh...

So someone asked me for a photo of what my house looks like now (remember here?). Well, as of Memorial Day weekend this is what the front of my house looks like.

The first winter we lived in the home the AstroTurf blew off the front porch. We pressure washed it to get most of the 3 layers of paint and glue off, now we need to patch some of the concrete and paint it. Those day lilies we found under the bushes. We moved them to the right side of the porch.

So this is before and after.

On Memorial Day we went to my husband's aunt & uncle's house to celebrate his grandparent's (Jeff's mom's parents) 65th wedding anniversary. His grandparents crack me up. They are 2 very witty sassy people. Here are the great-grandchildren. There are 3 missing (my brother-in-law and his family did not come). Oh yeah, that is my husband in the white polo in the back.Lily cracked me up while we were there. She wouldn't let us put her down until Jeff's aunt put their dog in her crate. But after the dog was put into the crate, all Lily wanted to do was go talk to the dog.

Last year at Ian's school they replaced their Ice Cream Social with Family Fitness Night. Well, I am not, nor was I ever, a gym person. I think it is great to get kids moving and families involved, but doing aerobics in a VERY HOT and STICKY cafeteria after eating dinner is not my idea of a good time.

The kids had a fantastic time and Ian's friend was there with his dad. Lily even got into it.Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Not Me Monday - wk6

Welcome to Not Me! Monday.

I did not attend a 1st birthday party on Saturday for the little boy I painted these for. I did not take over 100 photographs. Before going to the party I did not go and get 4 inches of hair cut off. It did not make me smile when my husband told me I looked 10yrs younger with my new haircut. =)My mom did not call me yesterday to let me know my grandmother fell down the outside front steps at my aunts. I am not upset she is still in the hospital. She broke her wrist and was in tons of pain so they admitted her into the hospital.

I did not spend the whole weekend cursing cottonwood trees. Where we live there is a huge population of cottonwood trees and the air looks like it is snowing out and/or tons of dandelions threw up. I did not spend the weekend sneezing, blowing my nose, having watery eyes and a scratchy throat. I do not hate allergies. I do not wish it would rain so the allergens would go away.

Wordless Wednesday

So I went through the Wendy's drive thru and we got a secret agent badge. You were supposed to use the stickers to disguise the people on the badge. Lily decided that she needed to put them on her face. She was very proud of herself. Happy (almost) Wordless Wednesday!

Wordless Wednesday

The other morning while my son was waiting for the bus he got all excited and ran in the house to tell me about something he found...Here it is....a tiny snail.
Ok, not so worldless. ;)
Have a great day!

What are you doing?...

My kids are doing lots of this...While I do this in my Florida Room...While I watch them do this...yep Lily mama sees you. =D
And you too, Ian! (While Lily looks on and tries to figure out what you are building.)I think she is still wondering what he is building...
My husband & brother in law built this sandbox in the summer of 2006 and it has gotten LOTS of use since then. I had one as a child my dad built and my sister and I LOVED playing in it.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Take Me Back Tuesday

November 13th, 2005
How time flies. We moved into our current house the day before Halloween in 2005. This is what it looked like when we moved in. All of the bushes are gone now and so are the awnings (what I referred to as eyelids). Those big bushes on either side of the steps were tied to the porch. Weird thing happened when we pulled out the bushes, my son cried when we pulled out the mini pine tree on the left of the picture. I have no idea why he was all of a sudden so attached to the mini pine tree. What I did uncover when we pulled out everything was a ton of Day Lilies. We kept those and put them on either side of the steps.
