Aloha Friday #3

It is Aloha Friday! In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that people take it easy and look forward to the weekend.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your comment below and link in Kailani’s blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

This week's question is:

When do you start Christmas Shopping? Do you exchange with lots of people?

I start Christmas shopping the day after Christmas. I go to Target when it opens and grab as many stocking stuffers for my kids as I can. My husband & I no longer exchange presents. The last time we did was Ian's first Christmas. We buy for the kids and for my nieces and nephews. I make ornaments for everyone else. I usually package them in a pretty tin or box I bought the year before. My husband & I go shopping for the kids around my birthday every year. We went shopping on Wednesday and we are now done with the kid's presents. I just need to make ornaments.

I have a favor to ask of my blog readers. I entered my swirly santa ornament in the Michaels Handmade Holiday Contest. I would LOVE to win. (who wouldn't?) Would you please go here and give me 5 snowmen. No need to register...just click through and click 5 snowman. Thanks a bunch!!

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

I try to start Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving and I try to avoid the crowds...sometimes I am successful. I only have a few people to buy for so it makes it even easier.

I voted for your Santa ornament which btw is adorable. :)

We do not exchange gifts.

Hmm, it varies for us. I've never a late minute shopper, and I start before Thanksgiving, but not as early as the day after Christmas. (I wish I could be as organized as you are about it!) :) We exchange gifts with both sides of our families, plus DH and I get something for each other too.

Headed over to vote now.

I usually shop in December. I voted for you.

We have already started Chanukah shopping since it begins in early December. We buy a few things for the boys, get something for hubby, my parents, nieces and nephews. That's pretty much it. Chanukah has become way too commercialized and really is not that important of a holiday and not traditionally a time to exchange gifts.

Usually I am done by now but thankgoodness my homemade baskets of goodies for family are finished and all I have left is to finish up little things for the kids...! You can count on my vote! Hope your Birthday was great!

I usually start Nov 1, but we are not buying anything for the kids this year. We're hoping to take a little trip instead. (Stocking stuffers will still happen, though.) For everyone else close by, I bake cookies. Nieces and nephew get something small, don't know what this year.

We exchange way too many gifts actually but it's all fun. I start my shopping as soon as I find something I want on clearance for a certain person, we had the kids done just family left.... and those we are waiting for lists from.

Love santa, I still wanta bunch of stuff from your shop... anyway I will go vote!

Stop by and check out my question, and enter to win a giveaway!! www.bzzagentroyalty.blogspot.com

I was almost going to ask the same quest. today.

I actually already ordered & received something in mail for my daughter - which is way early for me. I used to not even start til after Thanksgiving, but starting early this year.

I have cut way back on the gift giving in recent yrs.

My girls birthdays are September 26th and November 25th, so needless to say that I usually don't start shopping for Christmas until the November birthday has passed.

Our list isn't too big. We make homemade apple pies for friends instead of exchanging gifts (we deliver all of them on Christmas eve).

I gave you 5 santa's! Good luck, the santa is adorable.

Well my shopping is actually starting this weekend! We don't have a ton of people but there are enough kids on my husband's side to make shopping interesting. Luckily my daughter us the only kid on my side so we kinda get off easy on that one. ;0)

Last year I bought a gift card at 10pm Christmas Eve...does that answer your question HAHA!

I have a lot done this year but more b/c of my blog not because I'm on top of things.

Love the santa, voted for you of course!
We shop for probably way to many people, about 14 besides my own 2 kids!
I will start my shopping here in the next 2 weeks or so (Amazon here I come)

I shop year round watching for sales and specials, especially this year since our budget is so much tighter. So I'm always ready well in advance which is nice. My husband and I don't exchange gifts either, we just focus on the kids and our relatives, which since we have a small family is not a big deal.

I voted for you! We do almost all our Christmas shopping last-minute, because we have to wait until my hubby gets his bonus, around mid-December. That's something I'm hoping to change this year, so I now have a seasonal part-time job. I don't know how much it will really help, but...

Super cute santa ornament. I bet you could sell those, if you don't already.

I can't tell if the vote went through or not but I gave you 5 stars. That was kind of weird. There should be a submit button or something.

I usually start shopping in the fall and finish by Thanksgiving. I haven't started yet but I have 3 weeks, lol. I just buy for our two kids and very, very modestly. Everything has really been toned down over the years.

I am going to give you some snowmen right this second :)

Happy Aloha Friday! I start after Halloween - early bird. I've actually cut down on the exchange with others. We give money to charity. Thanks for leaving a comment at my post. Have a great weekend!

Our list has narrowed this year as well! The kids in our family get the most presents! But we love to give what we can :)

I'm one of the crazies that venture out in the wee hours of the morning on black friday. i like the deals, but certainly not the mad traffic and peeps that go with the territory. i just shop for my boys. easy peasy.

i tried voting for your santa ornament, but i didn't see the number of votes change. he's very cute and you're extremely creative!

I gave you 5 snowmen. The ornament is adorable. I generally start my shopping around Halloween because my youngest still likes to dress up. But I'm not finished. Usually I'm still buying last minute.

@Fresh Mommy-- I doesn't matter that what we are giving but its matter that what is our thought behind that and whom we are giving.

My birthday is tomorrow so I will thank God for the last 4 decades that He has given me on this earth. I want to use every opportunity to give Him praise, honor and glory for being so good to me. I will celebrate with loved ones and keep preparing my soul to meet Him. No man knows the day or the hour when the Son of Man will return.
