Wordless Wednesday - New To Me

A couple months ago I found a child's rocking chair by the side of the road for free. It was filthy and needed to be put back together (the seat was off the base). I finally cleaned it up and put it back together on Sunday. I LOVE the blue color of it, but it needs to be repainted. I am torn between paining it the turquoise I used in my son's room or white. What do you think?

It looks beautiful (well especially when your gorgeous little on top of it =0)) But I would just give it a real good clean and glaze it because it is so lovely as it is!!

Same here, I would get the fine sandpaper out, and sand off more paint on the edges to make it even shabber, then if you want gloss varnish and get a ikkle cushion to place on it. Kx

Strike a pose! :) I'm going to agree with the others. I really like the chair as is. But if it doesn't match your decor, I'd go for white. :)

Awesome find! Your lil girl is so cute and look at her ham it up for the camera! I think it looks good the way it is but if you're gonna repaint I'd go with white.

That is a great little chair! I think I'd go with the white. That way if you want to add a fun cushion you can do whatever you want!

What an awesome find!!

I would do white, with maybe something done in the turquoise across the top of the chair...

I think it would be cool white with the light blue showing through underneath if sanded down a bit

What a cute photo! :-)

I'd probably go with white since then you can move it around and use it anywhere you want/need to.

Adorable picture!
the vote seems to be leaning toward the White. But the I am going to be the 1 lonely vote for turquoise!

But either would look good!

Hmmm....I'd maybe strip it down to the wood and make it natural. Actually, knowing me, I wouldn't change it at all lol.

Hi Melanie! I really like the idea of sanding off some more of this pretty blue along the edges to make it shabby, abd then maybe across the back, paint some sweet little flowers, or get some of the decoupage ones at the craft store. Then a couple of nice coats of matt varnish should finish it off. Don't forget to put that adorable little doll back on there when it's all done!

What an adorable picture and a great little find. I would go with the turquoise only because white is so "common". I think turquoise will make it pop!

You can't beat free, what a great find! If I painted it, I'd go with white, then you can put it anywhere.

That story is so sweetly precious and strickingly similar to one from my own life. When I was just a couple of years old or so, my grandpa pulled into a gas station one day and spied a rather worn out child's size rocking horse in the back of a man's truck. He struck up a conversation with the fellow who said he was en route to the dump. Figuring the chair was as a good as gone already, he asked the man if he could have it and moment later walked off with a well-loved, but still salvageable chair that he took home, sanded, painted white and gave to me. It was a cherished plaything throughout my entire childhood, as I hope the same will be true for this chair and your little one.

Thank you sweetly for your lovely comment, I hope you're having a beautiful week,
♥ Jessica
