Lego Figure Display

While looking around Pinterest awhile ago I found this idea to display Lego Figures.  Gotta love Pinterest.  When we went to Disney over the summer, I bought some single 2x4 bricks with the intention of making one for Ian. Fast forward a few months and I finally made it 2 days before Christmas.  It was super easy and didn't take that long.

For this project I used...
11x14 Frame (purchased at AC Moore)
E6000
ruler
30 Lego Bricks (I used 2x4 pieces, you could use smaller 2x4 ones, too)
Poster Paper (dollar store)

I first played around with placement and asked Ian what he thought.  I also had him bring down a couple figures he wanted to display on it.
Ian only wanted 3 lines of single bricks and 1 long one along the bottom.  He was excited he could display his bigger special pieces along with the others.
Once I figured out where I wanted the pieces I glued the legos with E6000 directly to the glass.  I glued the legos directly to the glass instead of the poster paper, because I thought it would stand up over time better.  I knew Ian will be taking the figures off once in a while and didn't want him ripping the paper.  I also glued the long piece together first before I glued it to the glass.  Then I cut a piece of poster board down to size (using the mat that was provided as a template) to place behind the glass.

Ian is very happy he can display his special Lego Figures now.

Wordful Wednesday - Poke Power and Some Unicorn

Last week I shared the photos my son used for his video trailer he made at Apple Camp.
Last Saturday we went to the Apple Store to watch all of the videos the kids made.  I was impressed with all of them.  Everyone did a great job!

Here is Ian's video....
...I even get photo credit at the end.  ;)

Wordful Wednesday - A boy and his IMAGINATION

When I told Ian that he got into Apple Camp (he was on the waiting list) he was super excited.  I told him he needed to bring in photos with him and immediately his brain started turning trying to figure out what he wanted to take photos of.

Then it dawned on him....

Pokemon in Lego Armor!
Yes...before we went on vacation he started creating armor out of legos for stuffed animals.  He continued when he got home when he built armor for his newest Pokemon, Scraggy.  He bought Scraggy while at Disney World in Japan at Epcot...his FAVORITE store at Disney World.  That kid could spend HOURS looking at the Pokemon in Japan.
He even put armor on his sister's Unicorn....
I can not wait to see the movie trailer he made at camp this week using all of these pictures I took for him.
Seriously look at that horn protector on the unicorn!
Seriously going to be awesome!
LOVE his imagination.  :D

Random throughs from a Sick Person.

-I feel awful!  :(  I started getting sick a few days ago and this cold is kicking my butt.  :(

-I have lost 9lbs since the beginning of January.  My husband has lost 10lbs.  We are both back doing weight watchers again.  (Old points, not new because I already have all of the stuff and I know it works.  Just need to keep up with it.)

-I finally got my kids to clean up their junk toys in my living room so I could finally take photos of my new couch.  (I have plans to move around the photos on the walls...because there used to be a corner hutch in the left of the room and paint the coffee table...any color suggestions?)
-As soon as they cleaned up, Lily decided she had to dump out a container of stickers all over the floor.  *sigh*  (Yep, I also have a tuba in my living room...gotta love small homes.)
-I had a customer stop by and pick up her order today and had to have her come in to see my new couch because my old one is by the curb and looks terrible...bowing my head in shame.  I am a bit embarrassed about how bad my old couches look. (The fabric was spent.  Keep in mind they were 12 yrs old...not to mention 4 cats & 2 kids later...it was time to replace them.)  I am LOVING my new sectional!
- I had intended on taking a before photo of the old couches and how ragged they looked....but I must admit I never got around to it before I painted the woodwork a couple weeks ago.  I do have these photos of my living room I took 2 months after we moved in this house in 2005.  The room hasn't looked that in a LONG time...

-I am feeling a bit sad because I have been neglecting by blog....really need to change out the fall header...oops.

- Really should put out my Valentine's decorations today...but I am really thinking about skipping right over Valentine's and putting up St. Patrick's decorations (I only have like 2 things for St. Pats, not that I have much for Valentine's.).  I did make these pins for my terrarium last week.

-We took the kids to Toys R Us for their Friends Lego Build event to build a lemonade stand.  Lily embellished her's a bit when we got home.
-Off to go cuddle up on my new couch and watch a movie.

Legos

One of the places Ian wants to visit this week is the Lego Store in Downtown Disney.  He can't wait to spend his money there.

Sunday Citar

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning.  But for children play is serious learning.  Play is really the work of childhood."  ~ Fred Rogers
This afternoon, Lily came up to tell me to come and look at her "trophies" she made in the basement.  So I asked her if I should take a photo of her masterpiece.  She was so excited that I was going to come and take a photo of them.
Do you see them?
She put beads on each of the lego dots and called them "trophies".  Typically she puts 2 beads together and calls them little trophies.
She was proud of her masterpiece.
I guess they were for sale....she told daddy they were $3.00.  He paid her $1.00 for one.  =)

Thank you for stopping by Sunday Citar! This blog quote meme was created by Fresh Mommy. You can stop by her blog to see the quotes and photos that she and everyone else is loving right now.
