Sunday Citar

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning.  But for children play is serious learning.  Play is really the work of childhood."  ~ Fred Rogers
This afternoon, Lily came up to tell me to come and look at her "trophies" she made in the basement.  So I asked her if I should take a photo of her masterpiece.  She was so excited that I was going to come and take a photo of them.
Do you see them?
She put beads on each of the lego dots and called them "trophies".  Typically she puts 2 beads together and calls them little trophies.
She was proud of her masterpiece.
I guess they were for sale....she told daddy they were $3.00.  He paid her $1.00 for one.  =)

Thank you for stopping by Sunday Citar! This blog quote meme was created by Fresh Mommy. You can stop by her blog to see the quotes and photos that she and everyone else is loving right now.

My Small House Part 2...

On Monday we had a really REALLY bad rain storm here in Buffalo (beat the record for amount in one day) and my basement flooded. Now a little background about my house. My basement is semi finished. It was finished by the previous owner. We knew we needed to redo it eventually because we do get some water, but nothing to be worried about. Right now my house smells still. There was an area rug in the basement and it is now trash. That is ok because I did not buy it, it was left here by the previous owner. My husband & I took it to the curb a few days ago. That did help with alot of the smell. The previous owner also put peel and stick tiles all over the finished part of the basement (invision 70's tiles). Currently I am pulling up each tile because it just isn't drying right. The lovely things that homeowners go through.

The picture below was taken December 2005, about 6 weeks after we moved in. The furniture placement is different now, my futon is now over on the far wall under the small window, the chair is upstairs in my living room and where the futon is in the picture below is a cube bookshelf I bought at Ikea which has all of my son's toys in it.

And just because I feel everyone could use a laugh, play the video.
