New Addition

It's official.

We are crazy cat people.

Last Tuesday while doing errands we went into a place called Tabby Town (a cat adoption center).

Typically in these types of places, we walk in, pet some kitties, the kids plead for another, Jeff pleads for another and I tell them no and leave.

Well, Tuesday was different.  Jeff fell in LOVE with a kitten.  She was purring up a storm and kept grabbing his head, like she was petting him though the bars.  It was really sweet.

So my heart melted and we went back the next day while the kids were in school...

and adopted her.
Jeff is happy.  He has a little buddy.  She loves to sleep on him.
Mind you she tries to sleep on your head & neck first.  Kittens are so silly.
Our other 2 kitties (they are sisters we adopted at the same time), do not know what to think of the new rambunctious little one.
They seem annoyed more than anything.

Now there are 3...
Yep, crazy cat people here.  (I was informed at the bus stop the other morning by a dad that anyone with more than 2 cats are crazy cat people.)
She came with a name of Curious.  Curious reminds me of Alice, so we I have decided to call her Alice.  Lily still wants to still call her Curious.  Jeff & Ian think her name should be Kevin, for the bird in Up (was a girl, but Russell insisted on calling it Kevin).  Then they said her name could be Alice Kevin Adey (AKA).  ;)

Lily's loves!

We spent yesterday celebrating Christmas at my in-laws.  My husband's Aunt & Uncle came, which made my daughter soooooo happy.  You see they brought their 2 doggies with them.  She LOVES their doggies (and she also loves to talk Aunt Mary Ellen & Uncle Tom's ear off).

Daisy is her favorite, she is the one on the left.  I am pretty sure she is her favorite because she is a girl.  ;)
Chopper is the one on the right.  He is really sweet.
Lily spent forever petting these doggies.  She loved them.

They are so cute and sweet!!

I wonder what my kitties would think of a dog that is about their size?....

Naughty Kitty

It is pretty sad that I have not taken any new pictures of my kids since new years.  :(

I have taken pictures of my clay creations, a broken Lalaloopsy doll...and my Naughty Kitty on the kitchen counter being annoying waiting to be fed dinner.  She knew she wasn't supposed to be on the counter...she was just staring at me waiting for me to get up and feed her.
I really need to pull out my camera more often.

I can not believe...

That fall is just around the corner! It is very hard to imagine, especially since we have been having a bit of a heat wave here in Buffalo. YAY, summer finally arrived here. (It has been a weird summer here)

Anywho, with fall around the corner I am itching to make new ornaments. Here are a couple that are in my shop. These made their debut last fall, but I love them. I bought a glittered tree at Michael's (with a 40% coupon) last year and hung them all over it. I put the pumpkin clusters and kitties underneath.

On another note, I entered my cake place card holders in the Martha Stewart's DIY Wedding Crafts Contest. You can find my entry here. I would love if everyone could give me 5 stars and leave a comment. The contest ends Sept 1st. and will be announced Oct. 15th. I have loved Martha Stewart Weddings ever since I was planning my wedding 12 years ago and saw the daisy themed wedding they did (I still have that magazine). After seeing that article I decided that I would use daisies as my theme. I made all of my favors for my wedding, polymer clay daisy magnets. Please Note: You do have to create an account with Martha Stewart's site to leave a comment or give me 5 stars.

I still can not believe that fall is just around the corner!

Fall is just around the corner...

I can't believe my son is starting 2nd grade next Wed! Which means only 4 more days left of summer vacation. It just seems like yesterday he was going to preschool and learning his ABC's. My husband and I were remembering the other day when Ian was in preschool and one day he decided to share that 'Sunny's winning!'. We looked at each quizzically and then looked at him and asked him what he meant. He just kept repeating that sunny was winning and was a bit frustrated that we had no idea what he was talking about. We finally realized that they were doing a weather graph in school. Now he is doing subtraction in his head and continuing to surprise us. On another note, when Ian started preschool I forever became known as 'Ian's mommy' instead of Melanie.
I remember as a kid summer vacation feeling forever long. Time seems so different as a child. Fall and Halloween are just around the corner. This time of year is my favorite. Actually it seems like each holiday/season is my favorite, but I am partial to this time of year because my birthday is November 4th (election day this year) and my newest niece was born last year on October 30th. I can't wait to go apple picking, getting pumpkins and trick or treating with our friends.

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend!
