Wordful Wednesday - Cake

I love custom orders.  I made these for a wedding where the colors are pink, black & white.

**They are made of polymer clay**

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Mmmm...Cake!!

I blogged about my birthday cake here. I haven't made this cake in a really long time (it was before kids). I also never got a cake for my birthday this year. So yesterday while at Walmart I decided to buy the ingredients for my favorite cake. Last night I made it for dessert. All I have to say is YUM! My husband had to complain that I used raspberry jello because he hates raspberry. He ate it though. I am sure it would be ok with other flavors of Jello, raspberry is my favorite though. My mother found this recipe in a Jello flier MANY MANY years ago. It was also her go to cake when she went to wakes because it is a cake you can eat with your hands. It was always a hit.

Here is the recipe again:

The Ruby Slipper Cake Recipe
1pkg (2-layer size) yellow cake mix or pudding included cake mix (**I used pudding included mix)
1c (1/2 pt) sour cream
1/4c water (**I used skim milk instead)
2 eggs
1pkg (3oz) Jello Raspberry Flavor

Combine cake mix, sour cream, water and eggs in a large bowl.
Blend, then beat at medium speed 2min until creamy.
Spoon 1/3 of batter into a well greased and floured 10in bundt pan.
Sprinkle with 1/2 of the gelatin
Repeat layers.
Spread the remaining batter over the gelatin to cover.

Bake 350degrees for 45 min, until cake springs back when lightly pressed.

Cool in pan for 5min, remove from pan and cool on rack.

Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

ENJOY!!

Shhhh...gonna go get another piece of cake now. =D

Not Me Monday - wk9

Welcome to my 9th week of Not me! Monday.

This week I did not change around my blog in an attempt to make it look a bit cleaner. Not at all because every time I posted my blog link to facebook it wouldn't pull the photo's I wanted it to. I did not read a TON of code and tutorials and did not rewrite most of my blog code myself. I know I could pay for a new design...I am not frugal. I also do not like writing code at all. Actually, I have a degree in Engineering Science and in college (way back when) I learned how to write code. At the time when I learned how to write code the wild world of the Internet wasn't like it is today, though.

Anywho...

There are now 4 columns, one post column on the left and 3 on the right side (one wide at the top & 2 below that).

I also did not add a navigation bar. I had installed one a few weeks ago with photo buttons I made, but I prefer just text now. It is not driving me insane because that text is underlined and I have no idea on how to make it not underlined. Oh well.

I did not add the blog contest widgets to the bottom of my blog. I have to thank Sara from Subjective Beauty for posting an answer and a tutorial to my question about scroll bars. She ROCKS!! The scroll bar saves soooo much space on my blog. She also has another tutorial on how to add a moving marque scroll bar. Check out her ask sara posts for all the tutorials.

On Saturday I did not host a shower for my friend at her house. I am her only bridesmaid in her July 25th wedding (you can click here to see my bridesmaid dress). I did not make an army of wedding cakes as my present (62 total, but who's counting? Not ME!).I also did not make an army of daisies as favors and description holders for the food.I did not spend 3 hours making the food on Friday. I did not make Chicken Wing Dip, Taco Dip, Chile & Cheese Spirals, GoGo Asiago Dip and Beer Bread. I was not pissed because someone volunteered to bring the tortilla chips & punch bowl showed up 30 minutes late....and didn't even say she was sorry! Oh yeah...the punch bowl was dirty, too. While there I did not get to see the sassy girl (bride to be's daughter) I watched during summers for the past 3 years. This summer she isn't coming to my home because they moved. I do not miss her one bit. *sniff*
After opening presents I did not make this beautiful hat for my friend. I would not make her stand there so I could take photos of her wearing it. She loves me!! =D
This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Shop Update...

I loved the square photo holder so much I decided to make a round one with spring color polka dots. This would be great as a baby shower favor, mother's day present or place card holder for your Easter Celebration. I just had to put this picture of my son in it. This picture we call his 'little dude' picture. Pssst...his face looks JUST like my dad's. And just because I know he is going to read this, HI DAD! =D
You can find this cake here. And from my last post (don't forget to enter to win one), my spring cupcake magnets. These cupcakes are smaller than my cupcake ornament. These little cupcakes have a magnet in the bottom so you can put them on your microwave or stove or.....this little cupcake stand....
The stand has a magnet on it so your cupcake doesn't slide off.

I made one of these pendants forever ago and I wear it all the time. I am not sure why I never made one for my etsy shop, but I finally did and here it is.

I was recently contacted by a fellow blogger, Amy, to make her some blue birds. She blogged about them here. And you should also check out her shop here. I will be adding more birds to my shop this weekend. Here are some pictures of them all, blue, turquoise and purple.

WOW, lots of updating.

Wow, Time Flies!

I can't believe it's been a week since I posted. Time has flown by! My sister and her family came to visit last weekend and we had so much fun. We decided to craft on Friday night. Hehehe...yes, we have now become old (not really). I can remember a time when we would go out to bars on a Friday night. We had a fabulous time though. She made a personalized bracelet that I helped string and I came up with my lollipop ornament and made more cupcakes. My husband laughed at us when he came home because we were too funny. What can I say, I come from a crafty family.
Since then, I have been busy creating for the Buffalo Indie Market I am participating in on Sunday. I have made a bunch of inventory and have made a couple new things. Making my personalized wedding ornaments. On a whim while making wedding ornaments I decided to make a 3 tier cake with ribbons. I had it up in my etsy shop for 2 days and sold 5! How fun! I can make these in pretty much any color you would like. They are only 1 inch tall and would make a great wedding favor. Keep tuned because I have some fun ideas for these little cakes...

If you are interested in purchasing anything you see here, you can find them in my etsy shop, here. If you are looking for something special please feel free to e-mail, convo or leave me a note on my blog.
