These are from last weekend's competition in Orchard Park. His teacher
spray painted the bell gold and bought some new black pads for his
sousaphone and he was so happy. On a sad note, he put his hat down on
the bus and it was 'lost' for the competition so he couldn't wear it.
He was very upset he didn't have his hat. Thankfully people found the hat when they
cleaned off the bus. :D
Only 2 more competitions (our home show here in West Seneca is this weekend) and then they play the Championships in Syracuse University Carrier Dome.

Oh shoot and a whoot for losing and then finding the hat!
I always found it amazing watching them march across a field. The talent that it takes to perform, hold onto that heavy instrument AND play a song. Awesome!
Jeez - that thing is as big as he is.
Love those band kids! Wonderfully Wednesday!
This brought back memories! I was in marching band back in high school, but I played the piccolo - much smaller than a sousaphone. LOL I was always impressed with the ones who could march with those big instruments! I'm glad his hat was found, but I'm sure it was upsetting to not have it for performance.
Thanks for joining the party at Tales of a Pee Dee Mama!
