Disney Vacation Countdown

My husband and I booked our next Disney vacation and I wanted to do something special to count down the days.  Last year I had intended on making a paper chain, but never got around to it.
When I stumbled upon this idea made by Happy Clippings one day while looking at Pinterest, I knew these chalkboard mickey heads would be perfect.

To make mine I used...

white foam board (black would probably be better....but I bought mine for a dollar at the dollar store.)
Mod Podge
plates for the Mickey template
pencil
xacto knife
paint brush
chalk and black chalkboard paint.
After tracing the circles to make the heads, I cut them out with an xacto knife.  Then I put on a couple coats of mod podge on both sides of the head.  Using the Mod Podge helped with the head not curving. Then I followed the instructions on the can of chalkboard paint (I had some from another project) and painted it.
My kids love them!  Not bad for a project that only cost me $1.00 for 2 of them!  (I already had all of the other supplies on hand from other projects.)

We just went and did a slap-it-together paper chain but your idea is so much cuter! If we ever get to go again, I'm going to try it. :)
