Aloha Friday #17

This weeks question is:Do you like to go bowling?

I DO NOT like bowling.  Not sure why, but I can not stand bowling allies.  The whole idea of wearing dirty shoes and picking up a dirty ball lots of people have touched doesn't do anything for me.  Yes, going to bowling allies make me a ball-o-fun.  The only positive thing is they have banned smoking...that was the #1 reason I hated them before.  As a kid I had fun midnight bowling with Girl Scouts.  My husband LOVES to bowl.  He has been on leagues since he was a kid.  He is currently on a league and bowls once a week with friends he has been bowling with forever.  My husband asked me yesterday why I am not very competitive.  I think that may be why I really don't like bowling.   I have never been good at it and the whole idea of playing to lose doesn't really appeal to me.  It's not fun.  He is good at it and I am not...I feel like a dork and that makes it not fun.

With that said, when my husband decided that we should go bowling as a family on Valentine's Day....I was oh so happy.  Just what I wanted to do on Valentine's Day.  Yippie Skippie!

The kids did have a fun time.

(I am pretty much the same way with Gambling at Casinos & Putt Putt Golf...they do NOTHING for me.  Give me money at a Casino and I want to get rid of it so I can go home.  I would like playing putt putt without the score card.)

Have a wonderful weekend!

(BTW, I have a new giveaway going up tomorrow.)

I absolutely HATE bowling! But it's only because I'm so horrible at it. Getting a 70 is a fantastic score for me :) Happy Friday!

I actually love bowling! I don't do it often anymore, mostly because the prices have gone up so much!

Hope you have a nice weekend.

When I was much younger I use to be a bowling league. It was a lot of fun. I still have my purple bowling bowl my dad bought me when I was about 16. Whoa, dust that one off! LOL following you Aloha

I love bowling. My 8 year old and 4 year old were both on a league this past season, as was I! :)

You stopped by my OWOH giveaway and I just wanted to say thanks. Sorry it took so long for me to get back with you - I had over 200 entries! Whew! Glad it's over with. :) I am now following your blog, and if mine interests you I'd love it if you'd follow me as well! I just wrote an introduction post today, for new friends and old. Hope to see you there!

I haven't been to a bowling alley in years however we love to Wii bowl. Does that count??

I love to go bowling but rarely do. There is only I think 1 alley and it's like 25 miles away from me...sigh. Loved the photos and the post. Have a great Friday :)

I like to bowl, even though I'm not any good!

I love bowling... I hate the shoes. I guess if it were a math equation, though, it would go something like this:

bowling < shoes

So we rarely go bowling.

I only like bowling if I can eat greasy fries and a fountain pepsi. :)

I don't like bowling (hurts my wrists) but I have a brilliant friend who makes jewelry with recycled bowling balls (www.matt-cole.com) -- so in that regard, I like it.

My son, on the other hand, likes it (as long as the bumpers are up!)

Bowling is fun with the kids - we Wii it, I know it's not the same.
Great pics!!

I love those pictures!
My DH likes bowling a lot and I like to go with him, but not anyone else. I am so bad at it that it isn't fun if people are playing for points.

I like to bowl occasionally. It is fun as a family. We play bowling on the Wii too, and then you don't have to wear shoes ;)

I am with you on the bowling Mel. I grew up in a bowling kinda town and everyone in my house growing up were avid bowlers (still are). My husband does not bowl regularily and we have never taken the kids. I am okay with this!!!! Too funny. Tell Jeff he better rethink Vday next year, or else!!! LOL

I like bowling. It's just something else to play. However I hate thinking that i must wear some one else's dirty shoes! ugh.

And it's all too crowded and just has a weird feel to the place.

But if we go as a family then it's ok.

As a germaphobe I am right there with you on the nasty shoes and dirty balls. But, I do love bowling and if we ever get invited we try to go. We took the boys last year and they were pretty ticked off when they realized it wasn't as easy as when they play bowling on the Wii, lol!

I actually just took the kids bowling tonight, for a mystery shop. I grew up bowling with my multi-trophy-winning grandma, but I didn't get her good bowling genes. I'm awful at it, but I still like it! :)

What cute action shots! I do like bowling but I can't do it because of my carpal tunnel syndrome. It seriously aggravates it!

I've only bowled a couple of times in my life and the bowling ally always had a bar. I am not sure if I really enjoyed bowling or if it was the alcohol. Lol. Funny thing is, I recently Wii bowled and really enjoyed it. And no dirty shoes were required. :)

I totally agree with you on gambling. I went to Atlantic City once and the most fun I had there was spent eating a lunch buffet ( very cheap) and walking along the boardwalk ( even cheaper).

Have a great weekend Melanie!

O.K I am so with you on this one!!
My husband is a league bowler and very good, I am terrible!! I even did a learn how to bowl better league once and nope, it didn't work. Ironically though, my husband worked at a bowling alley, that is where I first met him!
At least the kiddos had fun!
