Mamalicious Monday

Playdoh....love it or hate it?
I personally don't mind it....as long as the kids play with it over hardwood floors. Yes, I am not a fan on cleaning up the little pieces, but once they dry a vacuum works great. I have never made my own dough before.
I decided to take it out the other day and let my kids have a ball. I have TONS of playdoh and even more TOYS for playdoh. I bought most of them on the clearance rack at Target.

This is Ian's contraption. He LOVES to make contraptions.Lily played with the playdoh a lot longer than Ian did. She sat there for hours. The one thing I hate about playdoh is when it sticks to clothes, especially socks. It washes out ok, it is just annoying. This was the mess I ended up with. It wouldn't have been as bad, but Ian insisted he had to make mini pieces for his sister. Yep, leave it up to 7yr old boys to come up with brilliant plans. =D Instead of trying to stick these little pieces back into the containers (most of it was was old) I grabbed a broom and threw it out.

Mamalicious Monday

Do your kids like eating soup? Mine LOVE to eat chicken noodle soup. When I asked my son what he wanted to take to school for lunch on his first day this year, he said soup. Which I found odd because it is really warm here in the beginning of September. When he started kindergarten a couple years ago I bought him a thermos bowl thing so I can send him to school with soup. I think my kids love to eat soup because they get to eat it with a straw. Yep, every time they eat it I give them a straw. I have learned though, that loopie loop straws are no good because the noodles get stuck. The bigger fatter plastic ones work great. For my daughter I cut one of the McDonald's straws in half. She gets so excited to use the straw.I also want to let everyone know that on this Thursday, I will be donating all of my proceeds from my daisy necklace to the Cora's Playground Fund. There is still time to donate and buy etsy items that were made for this cause. Click on the link on my side bar and it will take you to all the Cora Paige items on etsy. I plan on selling the daisy necklaces until all I made for this cause are gone. Cora's mom has set up her own etsy shop, go on over HERE and check it out. The reason we picked Thursday, March 5th to donate is because it's a special day...it would have been Cora's first birthday.

The weird thing is March 5th also happens to my husband's 35th birthday.

Mamalicious Monday

What I have learned this week.
Life is short so please,
HUG YOUR LOVED ONES!

Planes don't drop from the sky!?!?
(at least they usually don't)

I live in Buffalo, NY and have been in shock since I first heard the news that Flight 3407 crashed. I decided that I wasn't going to turn on news coverage in front of my 7 year old son. I don't want him afraid of flying or to freak out every time he sees a plane overhead. How do you explain to a 7yr old what happened? We have planes flying over our home all the time. My husband grew up a couple streets from the airport. I worked in a hotel by the airport for years. I do not know anyone personally who died in the crash. I do know people who are directly effected because they new people who died. One of my husband's friends lost 3 of his co-workers in the crash.

Today is the launch of the Cora Paige's Playground Fundraiser on Etsy. I have made this sweet little daisy necklace. I am donating 100% of the proceeds directly to the Cora's Playground Fund. When you click on the button it takes you to all the shops participating in the fundraiser. Please grab the button and put it on your blog to spread the word.

Mamalicious Monday

So for the past 2 weeks I have written about my daughter. I have decided to write about my son this week. He is 7 and LOVES Bakugan. For those who don't know what Bakugan are, they are little balls with a magnet in the bottom and when they hit metal they spring open and stick to the metal. Santa was very generous with the Bakugan this year. So what does a kid do with that many Bakugan? This is what mine does....

And he is very proud of his creation. =D

Mamalicious Monday

On Saturday my husband and my son went over to a friend's house. They left when I put my daughter down for a nap. When Lily woke up she was pretty upset that daddy & on (how she says Ian) were gone. We had a mommy and me day. She grabbed her 2 stuffed bedtime care bears and handed me the big one and kept the baby one for herself. We sat side by side on the floor with our care bears in our laps. Lily was so excited we were both wearing our pink pajamas and our pink slippers. We held hands and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (again). Lily was so adorable. Every few minute she would look up and me and smile. What a fun mommy and me day.

Mamalicious Monday

Does your child have a favorite show they love to watch over and over and over again? We do, it's MeMe (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). I get to see every episode "again, again". While I love anything disney, I just wish they would make more episodes. I have also DVR'd House of Mouse. I like that one because they show some older Mickey Mouse cartoons. My daughter is such a fan and too funny. She has her mommy minnie, daddy mickey and baby minnie.
