Dress #5 - Castle & Princesses

Tuesday I shared these dresses.  Today is...

Last but not least...
Day 5 - Dress 5

My mom made this dress out of a pillowcase she found at goodwill.  Have you ever found anything great at goodwill?  My mom finds things all the time.
And the back...
So pretty!
The sleeves and the bottom band is made with a pink sparkly fabric.
That is the last of the 5 dresses my mom made.  Which one is your favorite?

Here is a recap...

Dress #4 - Cinderella

Tuesday I shared these dresses.  Today is...

Day 4 - Dress 4

This Cinderella fabric I purchased the weekend after Thanksgiving.  I wrote yesterday about the width of character fabric.  For this Cinderella fabric I only purchased what the pattern had suggested for the size I was looking for (not knowing that the width was different).  My mom had to adjust the pattern a bit while cutting the fabric.  This dress is a bit narrower than the other.
My mom added this adorable eyelet to the bottom with pleats on each side.
And she added the mini fringe I bought from Pick Your Plum to the front.
So pretty!

Can't wait to show you the rest of these dresses.  Tomorrow will be the 5th and last dress.

Dress #3 - Purple Princess

Tuesday I shared these dresses.  Today is...

Day 3 - Dress3
The weekend after Thanksgiving I went to Joann's and found this material.  **A little side note about the material.  Turns out that 'character' fabric isn't the normal width.  It is actually a couple inches shorter, so when you read patterns you may need to keep that in mind.  I bought more of this fabric than the other because of the repeating pattern was so large.  I am glad I did.
I absolutely LOVE this fabric.  I love how all the princess look clear.
She added regular pom pom fringe on the bottom.
And mini pom pom fringe to the sleeves.  I bought both through Pick Your Plum.
Can't wait to show you the rest of these dresses.  Tomorrow will be Dress #4.

Dress #2 - Rapunzel Pillowcase Dress

Tuesday I shared these dresses.  Today is...

Day 2 - Dress 2

Remember this Rapunzel Pillowcase dress my mom made last spring?  Well, I found another pillowcase and asked my mom to make another dress.  ;)

This is the pillowcase I purchased from KMart.  They didn't have it at mt local KMart so I bought it on-line and had it shipped to the store.  ;)  Just want to let you know he material was really thin so my mom lined the dress.

Here is the front.
And this is the back of the dress.
Another look at the back...princess charming.
The sleeves and pleated ruffle at the bottom are made from a satiny material.  So soft.
My mom also added mini pom pom fringe that I bought from Pick Your Plum.  LOVE pom pom fringe.
LOVE it!!

Can't wait to show you the rest of these dresses.  Tomorrow will be Dress #3.

Wordless Wednesday - 5 Disney Dresses

I have said it many times, I have an obsession with material, cute clothes and embellishments.  Add Disney to the equation and Eek....cuteness!!
So when I opened up this package my mom sent me last week, I squealed in delight.  Yep, I wish I were 6 again so I could wear these adorable little dresses.  Lily LOVES all of them, too!
2 she made from Pillowcases (I bought 1 and she found 1 at goodwill), 2 are made of material I bought back in Nov and 1 is made from a sheet she also found at goodwill.  Because each one is soooo cute and have unique details, I am going to do a new blog post about each one separate over the next 5 days.
BTW, Woot Woot to my MOM!!  She just broke 12,200 followers last night over on Pinterest!!  She finds and pins the coolest ideas.

Rapunzel Dress

Last month I showed a sneak peek of the fabric I bought for this dress here.

I was on a mission to find some cute Rapunzel fabric that was different.  When I saw this pillowcase I knew it would be perfect.  (note, you can also find it here at Target.)

My mother based this dress on the pattern she found here.  In addition to the Tangled pillowcase, she used one white pillow case to line the dress because the tangled pillowcase is thin.
She also made her own casing for the tie because she didn't want to lose the flowers at the top.
My mom embellished the front of the dress by embroidering it....
Once again, my mom hit this one out of the park!  She took an crazy idea of mine and made it into a beautiful one of a kind dress for her grand-daughter. Just AMAZING!!
Again, THANK YOU MOM for making these for Lily!  I truly appreciate all of the time you took making these beautiful works of art!  LOVE YOU LOTS!

Princess Dress

YAY!!  My mom finished the dresses for Lily.  I could not tell you how excited I was when my mom showed them to me.  Yep, I was doing the happy dance.

So this is 1 of 2 dresses she made for Lily for our trip we are taking this summer.

I found this princess fabric with the elastic shirring at the top at Walmart (it was $9.97/yard).  They had lots of different Disney shirred prints and this one with the princesses is the one Lily picked out and I picked out the ribbon my mom used for the straps.
My mom LOVES to crochet.  She added some pretty crocheted detailed to the bottom band and the straps.  It is sooo pretty!!
My mom asked Lily who her favorite princess of the 3 that were on the bottom of the dress and Lily chose Aurora.  She added her to the front of the dress.
Lily is super excited about her new sundress.
Stay tuned for Dress 2.

THANK YOU MOM for making these for Lily!  I truly appreciate all of the time you took making these beautiful works of art!  LOVE YOU LOTS!
