Wordless Wednesday-Kitty Kitty

Everyday I have to remind Ian to shut his dresser drawers....
The kitty found a cozy bed for a few hours...
{BTW...Ian & I went through his drawers this weekend and reorganized them.  I have been on a cleaning & purging kick for the past few weeks.  I have a friend who takes all of my children's clothes.  I tried to take toys to Goodwill and they no longer accept ANY children's products and told my husband we will have a hard time finding anyone that will.  Pretty sad that the Federal Government would rather have them in landfills.  What happened to reuse & going green?  Did you hear that they want 'warnings' on hot dogs now? Ok, enough of my complaining.  Where do you take your used toys?}

Edited to add: The Salvation Army takes Childrens Toys.  YAY! We will be dropping them off on Friday.  =D

what a hoot.. that cat of yours, lol.
I do the same as you, All the clothing and toys go to the needy. If my daughter and Critter don't play with them or can't fit in it..they go in the box. I'm with you on the green thing. Trying to go green for good. One of my blog is dedicated to the green thing and health. Change is hard but well worth it. Happy WW

Too cute, cats are funny!

We take our old toys and clothes and pretty much anything still usable from around the house to our local church. They run a "household pantry" to help local families and they are very grateful to receive things.

Looks like a comfy bed to me!

Good thing you found the cat BEFORE the drawers were shut. :) We take our toys to a local thrift store, or else we freecycle them.

Beautiful cat. Mine seems to take any opportunity to hop into an open drawer.

I like the cat in the drawer. Yeah I am pretty disgusted at the toy/childrens stuff law that they are doing - It is really making things tuff - THey should start with the toy makes and ensure they make quality products first. I could really get going on this one.

Aw, your cat looks so cozy!!

I have a cat that will do the same thing! haha! So cute!

We have a resale shop here (Once Upon a Child) that will take toys. They only take certain ones though. Sorry you are running into problems. That is just ridiculous.

Oh that's cute (but I can't imagine cat hair is nice LOL)...

Just discovered that about the Goodwill here, too. I'm slightly disgusted. I'm thinking I'll ask at some of the churches and see if they need toys for their nurseries.

Happy WW!

I just cleaned out my closets this past weekend too. That's pretty disturbing that the Goodwill won't take kids stuff anymore. I'm pretty sure that's what the majority of shoppers at Goodwill would be looking for. I donate all of my to a local Thrift Shop who supports the hospital. The Salvation Army also takes stuff where I live too. A homeless shelter might be willing to take your kids stuff.

Silly kitty! too cute!

I didn't know that about the toys. I haven't really tried to bring mine anywhere lately.

I remember a couple of yrs. ago, my daughter's girl scout troop donated gently used stuffed animals to the local ambulance company. I guess they give one to kids if they have to take them in an ambulance. I thought that was a great idea.

Happy WW :)

I was thinking a homeless shelter or a shelter for victims of domestic violence... And if you have a place to keep the toys until November, Toys for Tots sometimes takes used stuff, especially in an economy like this. Cute, cute, cute pictures!

We had a cat that learned how to open a dresser drawer just for that purpose. LOL

And, I can't believe that Good Will wouldn't take the toys. That is just wasteful.

Cute kitty photos! Your cat is beautiful!

I've been decluttering around here. Spring cleaning came earlier this year! I'm am so over the junk. Isn't it liberating to be rid of it?

I didn't know that about Goodwill. MAN! I had a bunch of stuff to drop off in the back of my car. I guess I'll just sending it to the Salvation Army. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for stopping by for WW! :-)

Is that a state law? Our Good will still takes kids stuff. And I sell it to Once Upon A Child. But garage sales are great!
I love your cute kitty pics!!!

Adorable!

I cannot believe they don't take the toys. The guidelines that are always too harsh. I know we need to protect our kids, but it is ridiculous that all toys are being rejected. It is just going to add to our disposable society.

That is totally something our cat would do! Very cute!

I just love your blog. Such a beautiful header!

Huh!! I had no idea that goodwill did not take children's items anymore. We are still passing them down and have not gotten to the point that we are ready to get rid of them yet. I suppose you got try putting the smaller things on ebay. Or freecycle.

Love that first picture! I sell some used toys on Craigslist but if you put up free I bet they would be gone before you could blink an eye!

love your kitty pics. i didn't know there was a ban against kids stuff...that explains why we couldn't find anything for our 7th child...we looked everywhere for car seats, strollers and such, absolutely not one children's thing to be found. all our thrift shops closed here on long island and there's a goodwill down the road, but most of the items start at $20 and up...it's so ridiculous it's cheaper to shop target or walmart. you should definitely try freecycle, craigslist or a church.

Your kitty is so cute. They love hiding. My cat climbs in empty boxes if I leave them lying around.

Thanks for stopping by Healthy Moms and leaving us a comment.

Have a totally awesome Thursday!

And that is why I LOVE cats!!!!
Good luck finding someplace to unload the toys. Maybe there is a resale place nearby that specializes in kids? Other than that maybe a woman's and children's shelter?
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
