Army

Last weekend for father's day we went to visit my parent in PA.  We typically spend father's day here.  My husband usually goes golfing and then we go and visit my husband's father.  This year my husband suggested we go and spend Father's day with my dad.  My father's birthday is the week before Father's day and this year he turned 60.  We bought him a DSLR camera for his birthday/Father's day.  After about a year of being without a camera (his film slr is broken) he is now back in action and not tethered to film.

While I was showing my father all about his camera and photo editing software....I looked over and noticed that Ian had decided to make an army of animals....

He said he was setting them up to have a battle.

A Gift

As you may already know, my parents take lots of photos.  I am so glad for that.  It is wonderful to be able to share those old photos with my children.  It's too funny when my son says...."look papa had hair!"  You may also remember me mentioning that my husband's family were the complete opposite.

For my wedding my mom created a signature book for us putting in old photos of Jeff & I as children.  Anyway, I had to ask Jeff's grandmother for photos of him.  When looking through photos she showed me photos from her own wedding.  There were only 10 left...the rest were destroyed in a fire.  I got an idea one Christmas for grandma.  Grandpa had passed away earlier that year and I thought grandma would love it.  My brother-in-law grabbed those old wedding photos for me and I had a friend I worked with scan them & print them for me.  He also put the photos on a floppy disk (remember those?).  I called grandma one day and asked her lots of questions about her wedding and then set out to create a wedding album for her.  I created 2 albums, one for her and one for me.

Well, she passed away less than 2yrs ago and that wedding album & her wedding pictures disappeared...  Anyway, my father-in-law has none of the photos.  For this father's day, I found that floppy disk and created an album through Shutterfly for him.

I gave him the album yesterday and he LOVED it.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there.

Especially Jeff....my wonderful husband! And my father!! 4 years: My Daddy can do anything!
7 years: My Dad knows a lot…a whole lot.
8 years: My father does not know quite everything.
12 years: Oh well, naturally Father does not know that either.
14 years: Oh, Father? He is hopelessly old-fashioned.
21 years: Oh, that man-he is out of date!
25 years: He knows a little bit about it, but not much.
30 years: I must find out what Dad thinks about it.
35 years: Before we decide, we will get Dad's idea first.
50 years: What would Dad have thought about that?
60 years: My Dad knew literally everything!
65 years: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more.
