Dear So and So... wk14

Dear Amy,
This is for you!
Hugs, melanie

Dear Tantalus Restaurant Bar & Cafe,
I will never set foot in your restaurant.  NEVER EVER, period!  You can read about the reason here.
Bad customer service rubs me the wrong way.
Sincerely, A customer lost

Dear Neighbor's,
Sorry that your son's tooth was knocked out.  It was an accident.  You see your son and mine were playing tug of war, Ian's hand slipped off the jump-rope and the handle flew back and hit your son in the face.  My son never 'hit' your son with the jump-rope.  The welts up and down his arms were from him hitting himself.  You would have known if Ian hit him that hard with the jump-rope...your windows were open.
Sincerely, Your neighbor.

Dear self,
It is going to be one long summer.
Try and stay sane and not drink too

Dear Ian,
I am not mad about the jump-rope incident.  I am disappointed in your bad judgment.  The jump-rope is now in the trash.  I know it was an accident.
hugs, your mommy

Dear Dad,
How did you like Wordful Wednesday this week?
Mwah, melanie

Dear Jeff,
Thank you for starting Weight Watchers with me.  Yes, 2 light beers are the same points as 1 yogurt.  I like how you look at things.
Looking forward to the thinner you and me, mel

Dear Ian,
What gave you the idea that hooking yourself with a caribeaner clip to the shopping cart last week?  *sigh*  You did this after I asked you to stop playing with the garbage can lid.  Seriously, if you think it is a good probably isn't.
Annoyed, mommy

Dear Target,
I am not pleased you changed your flushable toddler wipes.  The new ones SUCK!  I was never a fan of the kandoo ones and the fact you changed yours to be like those did not make me happy.
Sincerely, Unhappy Customer

Dear Blog Readers,
Thank you for all of your wonderful comments and for stopping by.  You make my heart swell.  I especially would like to thank Lynn!  She suggested I enter the bird photo from this post into the Erie County Fair this year.  I think I am going to take her advice.
Thank you & hugs, melanie

This weeks question is:
Have you ever had a bad experience at a restaurant?

The reason I asked is because my friend posted this about her experience last Friday night at a local restaurant called Tantalus Restaurant Bar & Cafe in  East Aurora, NY.

"HORRIBLE! I am so disappointed because I have been to Tantalus before and loved it each time. Tonight was by far, the worst experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. We invited some friends who had never been to Tantalus to join us for my birthday. We arrived at 7:00 to find a one hour wait for a table. No problem, we enjoyed a drink at the bar, although we did have to stay on the hostess so she didn't forget about us. We were seated at 8:00 pm and promptly ordered drinks and apps. We were eating our apps by 8:30 and had placed our dinner order a few minutes before the apps came. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Around 9:15 the waitress, who had been over to apologize once already, brought us 2 bowls of "complementary soup" (there were 4 of us at the table) and again apologized for the wait. At 9:40, she came over again and promised to throw in desserts. At this point we started to express some dissatisfaction with our wait time. At 10pm, we decided that it was time to go, without our food because 1.) who wants to eat lobster and fettuccine at 10pm? and 2.) we both had babysitters who needed to get home (time is money, right?). When we requested the check for the food and drink we HAD consumed we were then greeted by the owner of the restaurant who came table-side and proceeded to yell at us and accuse us of trying to eat and run without paying. He insisted that we wait for the food to be boxed up, and that we pay for it. He told us that if we did not take the food or pay for it he would be contacting the authorities. He was rude, obnoxious and sarcastic. At no point did he try to apologize for our excessive wait time, nor did he offer us any kind of restitution. In fact he told me to stop talking to him or he was going to put the soups and desserts on our tab as well since he did not authorize that those were given to us. I will NEVER set foot into that establishment again under any circumstances. There is no food worth that headache."

My friend updated us on Facebook, Monday night...
"Just to let everyone know that I found out this morning that when my friend went to eat the food that she had ordered on Friday night and were forced to take home and pay for, her CHICKEN WAS COMPLETELY RAW! I just got off the phone with the Erie County Health Department and they told me that they have had some other complaints are they are planning a visit to Tantalus in the near future. A surprise visit."

I personally have never had an experience like that.  I probably would have told him to call the police.  I will not be going to that restaurant ever now because of what happened to my friend.

Wordful Wednesday - Erie Zoo

Because my father (everyone wave hi) has told me that I have to be wordless on wordless Wednesday, I have changed the title to Wordful Wednesday.

We went to the Erie Zoo on Sunday.  Here are some shots I took.
We took one of Ian's friends with us.  First I got this shot...
and then I got this...
Ian is such a goofball.

On the way to the zoo we stopped by a winery and I took these shots...
One of the best things we saw this time at the Erie Zoo were the Rinos.  Usually they are sleeping when we see them, but this time they were fighting playing.  This photo was taken by Jeff...

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Do you watch Lost?

I have watched it from the beginning and will be sad to see it end on Sunday.  I am looking forward to them tying up loose ends though.

You Capture - DOF

You Capture- Depth of Field

Last Sunday we went to the Buffalo Zoo.  As always I had fun taking photos.  Here are a few of the favorites I took while there.
Over by where we parked there was another lilac bush.  Of course Lily had to go over and check them out before we left.  I could not resist taking another photo.

Go on over to I Should Be Folding Laundry to see other You Capture's for this week.

Wordless Wednesday - Lilac Festival

On Saturday we went to the Lilac Festival in Rochester, NY.  Since we have had a warm spring half of the lilacs were bloomed and gone, but there were some that were still blooming.  Before I show you the photos...I have to share how cute Lily was.  She was ADORABLE!  She has asked daddy for a lilac bush..which is funny because Jeff HATES the smell of lilacs.  What is funnier is that daddy agreed to buy her one and put it in the back yard.  YAY...I will finally get my lilac bush I have wanted.  =D
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Bow Centers

It has been a busy weekend.  We went to the Lilac Festival on Saturday and the Zoo on Sunday.  Today I am extremely exhausted...thus the late post.   I have some beautiful shots to share from the Lilac Festival...put will have to do that later this week.

I do want to share what I mailed out today.  At the end of last week & I made these made to match Gymboree bow centers for Monae from Graceful Girls.  They made me smile.  My daughter wants one of each.

I also want to share the Ni Hao Kai-Lan bow center I made for Brandy from MadeJust4You.
**All of these are made by me out of polymer clay.**

Off to get some gardening done.  I bought some veggies & flowers to plant.
